FuriousFox46 Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Sven-Goran Eriksson said individual players should not be picked out for criticism as Leicester City's play-off challenge hangs by a thread. Some sections of City supporters have targeted loanees Yakubu, Jeffrey Bruma and Patrick Van Aanholt after last Saturday's disappointing 3-1 defeat at Reading. But Eriksson said all of his players could have done better at the Madejski Stadium, and has challenged them to make amends against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground tomorrow night. And he insists that goals from Everton loanee Yakubu are vital if City are to make it into the play-offs. "It is easy to criticise when we are losing," said the City manager. "But, before you criticise, you should analyse things. All of them could have done better, but I will not pick out three. I will pick out a lot of players who could have done better. Click here to find out more! "If it were that easy, I could point to one or two players and say they have made too many mistakes, but it is not that easy. "For the first Reading goal, five of our players – our whole backline and, maybe, the goalkeeper – could have done better. "They could all have done something different and they wouldn't have scored. It is a general pattern." Eriksson said Yakubu may be short of confidence, but added that the Nigerian is going to be vital if City are to break into the play-offs. "It is all about confidence with Yakubu and he needs to score goals," he said. "He went close again on Saturday and, hopefully, tomorrow he will score one. "He is not the most mobile striker in the world so his speciality is to score goals. "Normally, he scores fantastic goals. So I hope he will do that. We need those goals. "We need to get him scoring to stand a chance." Eriksson said City must stay positive and insists they have been playing good football, but are paying the price for errors. "I don't feel I should go into them and say we should pass the ball less. I feel that is wrong," he said. "All the good things we are doing, we should keep that and build on that. "If you take away the mistakes we are making, we are a great team. "It is pity, with the players we have we should do better and we should be in the play-offs, or higher."

I like this statement quite simply its telling the players: The whole team need to up there performance an book their your ideas up Defenders need to stay focused for the whole game And the Yak, you have the ability so....JUST SCORE or shoot....from anywhere, just f##### score!
