Dan Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 I think the main gripe with Yakubu is the money he's on, I reckon if he was on Fryatt's wages doing this people would be fine with it, the fact he's on such stupid money for us makes us expect him to get about 25 goals every 15 games. 10 in 19 is a good return but for £50k a week (approx) at this level I can sort of see why some may be a bit irritated, not slagging off his record but that kind of money you're looking at an absolutely standout, immense forward at this level which all in all, he hasn't been. Not complaining if he's gonna bang in the goals though, would take him back next year personally but definitely try to get him on lower wages.

They have both said time and again us paying Yakubu £50,000 per week is absolute bull. Gally's contact called anything around that figure "laughable" and Bert said we as a club aren't even paying him. So please, for the love of God, shut the absolute fcuk up with "he's not good enough for £50k a week". Because that's NOT what we're paying him.

Don't worry people see what they want to and half the people on the forum won't take that into account because it said in the Daily Mirror that we're paying 70 grand a week. They don't like facts you see.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 The main problem, in my humble opinion, is that there has been a severe lack of consistency within the team. No one player can claim to have shone throughout the season Chris Weale of course has been consistently abysmal.
