AoWW Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Even then you can employ someone doing exactly the same if you can prove your workload changed i.e. a new order came in as long as its outside the notice period as they are still deemed to be employed during their notice period. Well, yeah, I was trying to reply in the context of the OP's situation.
AoWW Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 My point is he must have worked there two years to get two weeks notice. Therefore he has worked there more than one year and has full employment rights and the rights to a proper redundancy procedure. Yes, I get that - he's been there 2 years and got 2 weeks notice as I've already said. Anyway, we're going round in circles and I'm fast losing the will to live.
hairy Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Well, yeah, I was trying to reply in the context of the OP's situation. OK I'll leave it then.
smallpauldj Posted 30 June 2011 Author Posted 30 June 2011 Thanks for all the help and best wishes peeps I'm determined to find work quick so I can keep my season ticket next year as I pay direct debit.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 You don't have to even have a contract. Pay slips showing proof of regular employment Is deemed just the same. Obviously don't take the word of a forum, get yourself down to citizens advice and phone ACAS. They will be able to tell you what rights you have with or without a contract
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 The Citizens Advice Office, is a logical place to go. Professional advice, and free also. Give it a go, as you have nothing to lose.
