Tour de France 2011

Schleck attacks and nobody reacts..........Contador accelerates to the front of the pack to get behind his teammates wheel and EVERYONE follows him. Wonder who people are worried about lol

This is massive. I was beginning to dislike Andy a little after his moaning about descents, but this is absolute guts. There are nearly no helpers left already, so its up to the favorites themselves. Exciting stuff.

Yeah, really brave move and credit too him. Don't think he will stay away though, unless everyone else gets so paranoid about watching each other that they don't chase, which is actually fairly likely.

Gotta say, the packs reluctance to work and chase down schleck is really costing them big time. Its like none of them know what to do. I wish they would just stop staring at each other and just work.

Damn, my man Alberto is done for.... Guess going for all three Grand Tours was a bad idea then....

And there is another day tomorrow... With an Alpe d'Huez finish!!! And then a time trial. Fantastic and exciting this is.

Great ride by Evans, he saw that nobody was going to chase because they were all too busy watching each other, so he just put his head down and rode almost everybody off his wheel. Incredible chase by him. Really deserves to win now in my opinion. What a smart move by Andy Schelck though, everyone seemed to be so worried about Contador that noone chased him and let him build a huge lead, of course Contador was having a bad day so it was all left too Evans to run him down. Great stage

Also take a bow Evans and little Schleck. What a race, they gave us. Both deserving a Tour win after their efforts today.

Evans, Andy and Voeckleur can all tke a bow after that, stunning stuff. Did anyone see how fresh Frank Schleck looked at the end as well? I wouldnt rule him out, could have a huge stage tomorrow.

Loved watching Berty get dropped by the chase. :trumpet:

This was never on the cards for this season. It was obvious that Riis and Contador decided to go all out in the Giro in case the hearing, which was planned before the Tour remember, came out to Contador's disadvantage. They've been bluffing as much as they could this Tour, but good to see a positive reaction from Schleck today.

As Rolf Sørensen said on Danish TV, no-one in the chasing pack bar Evans and possibly Fränk looked to have anything left to give. Contador was obviously struggling as was Voeckler who quickly called back Roland when he pulled them up at the start of the final km. The Schlecks can really nail it tomorrow if they play their cards right, but at the moment it looks 50-50 between Andy and Cadel. Going to be some great two stages!!

Fränk will likely be sacrificed tomorrow, but a podium place still looks likely I think.

Maybe not with full gas, but I remember, when Contador signed with Saxo Bank-Sungard, that Riis said, that him and Contador both shared a dream of winning all three Grand Tours in one season. With the situation as it is, it could look like, they have used this season as a kind test run on that, and this tour just shows, that is gonna take some effort to pull that stunt off, if it is even possible.

Still, it kind of makes a nice change to see, that even Contador can explode.

Yeah, but if I remember right, they were talking about this before the whole clenbuterol-farce started and they were quick to dismiss an attempt at it this year. Don't think he can do it despite having won the Giro and the Vuelta in the same year already.

What ever happens over the next 2 stages all i can say is Cadel you are a dead set legend. He got no support and he could see the tour slipping away so he did it all himself, that was all courage and all heart, win lose or draw he has given plenty and i'm so bloody proud.

Race is still on only down to 4 of them left now, just hope Cadel still has something left in the tank after that massive effort. Andy also may not have much in the tank.

Also wasn't it great to see Contador crack :scarf:

Was incredible wasnt it to see him take it up like that, he still looked the stronger of the chasers apart from FS as well at the end, keep this close tomorrow and I'd fancy him on the TT.

Was weird watching Contador like that, I've never seen it before

Just noticed you are in Melbourne, very jealous, was over there in Jan, loved the place. Despite being thrown out the crown casino every night.

He showed what we call over here plenty of "Aussie Spirit and Ticker"

Yeah you haven't lived until you've been kicked out of Crown by those massive 6ft 6 Russian Bouncers. How long where you in Melbourne for?

Only for 5 days, came over a couple of days before New Year and then went onto Sydney for the last test match.

Yep thats it, funny thing was we kept being removed from the casino then walking back in and going downstairs for the poker :crylaugh: Fantastic place though, felt like you were in a major city but a far more relaxed feel to anything, cracking pub in the town as well opposite Flinders street st....Union jack i think it was called, hen parties in there at 1pm on a sunday afternoon getting of their tits. Good times, Hopefully be back again before too long.
