I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 My dad died 7 years ago and left a will but i never saw it. Two people were present at the reading, my dads girl friend (EVIL COW) and my brothers misses. I`v now been told by my sister in law that everything was left to his sons and not one penny to her (EVIL COW). This includes a three acre field and a house. I`v been searching sites for information on how to get a copy of the will but seem to be going around in circles. I also do not know the name of the solicitors involved. If anyone can point me in the right direction, i would be very grateful.
ramboacdc Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 contact a solicitor near you and go talk to them. you usually get a half hour consultation for free. they can at least advise you or take the case on and go through legal channels/history records to find it. just make sure you aint paying out of the arse for a solicitor. why was your dads mrs at the reading if she didnt get anything? seems strange the two people at your fathers reading were her and your sister in law and not you and your brother but hey i dont know much about that law. im more of a family law expert since im currently representing myself to get access to my daughter. hope something here has helped or if not i hope you get some good fortune soon:)
Zingari Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 sorry but i'm a bit confused by this. Why didn't your brother's missus say something to your brother and you at the time ? so you could have both contested the will at the time . was she a live-in girlfriend who has common law rights to the property ? i don't know much about legal stuff , just interested how this could have occurred

I am Rod Hull Posted 22 July 2011 Author Posted 22 July 2011 Its very complicated to be honest. There are 7 brothers, 1 adopted by my dad from my mums first marriage(not in the will), four by "MY" mum and dad, 1 mystery (not in the will) and 1 by the "EVIL COW".. The "EVIL COW" was the only one to know about the reading of the will and asked my sister in law to go with her as they were good friends at the time (not so much now). I never knew about it and really wasnt bothered in truth. I`v been told that my youngest brother who was spawned from the "EVIL COW" was to be looked after financially until he turned 16, he is now 21 but he`s had fook all from her.. (seriously, she a right ****) Thanks for the advice.. much appreciated
Zingari Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 blimey , yes that is complicated citizens advice or just go and see a solicitor that deals with probate etc evil cow may have some claim on the property now though , but good luck anyway
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 If you find a way, I'm sure you'll find a will. (are quips allowed in this thread?)

What pisses me off so much is the fact that she kicked one of my brothers out ,when he was 16 (she walked all over my dad) and he went down hill from then on. He`s now been given only a few years to live at 37, (too much ale and drugs) and shes going abroad on holiday 4 times a year.. She dont even work !!! Theres pensions he had that no one knows about too... Thanks for the "good luck" If all works out, i`ll buy you a new hat (snake skin) with "ZINGARI" on it... If you find a way, I'm sure you'll find a will. (are quips allowed in this thread?) Yes.. And yes.. My dad was a bit of a lad..
Smudge Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 I'd call the local Probate Office and get their advice. Many old wills are kept at the Records Office in Wigston but I'm not sure if there's a cut off date. Hopefully either one will give you advice on how to proceed. Good Luck!
