ramboacdc Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 time to renew my car insurance on the 14th. my current insurers sent me a letter saying it will be £1200 3rd party with them for next year with 3 years no claims. thought it was a bit overpriced so i used to usual comparrison sites (go compare, meerkat, supermarket) and the cheapest i got was swiftcover £653 fully comp. im a 21 year old male with a child so i was expecting it to be at least 7-8 and im actually stunned its 6. was just wondering if any of you guys have ever found a saving like that and or know anywhere cheaper that i could go. i was with quinn insurance before btw.
Soar Fox Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 What's your excess on that? Also is that a one of payment or you planning on paying monthly direct debits?
ramboacdc Posted 3 August 2011 Author Posted 3 August 2011 What's your excess on that? Also is that a one of payment or you planning on paying monthly direct debits? £300 compulsary £500 voluntary monthly. it adds a bit to it but £63 a month i can afford.

Fox92 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 At least your attempting to renew, I passed my driving test in June last year and still haven't found cheap car insurance.

Just going to have to bite the bullet and pay close to a thousand pounds. The following year you will see it drop specially if you have a years no claims under your belt.
Bryn Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Costs me over £2k in Manchester on a 1.2l. I have an arrangement with them where they charge me less pro rata for the time I'm in Hull at the moment, but that will come to an end soon when I move to Manchester more or less permanently.
