okie fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Hi, I'm a reading fan and I just want to get another team's thoughts on championship proceeding's and Leicester are as good a team as any. Congratulations, Reading were the better team. First off, unlucky about yesterday but I thought your side looked, for all the millions spent, rather average. I'm sure this will not me the case come week 46, but for that money I'd have expected you to threaten more. However I know it takes time to gel a team. Leicester were bitterly disappointing. So, what are your thoughts this season? How long do you think it will be before your team plays like a team that knows each other? Do you think there are to many big ego's for the side to work as a unit? No, egos not the problem. Some of our players played with too little confidence. Where do you think you'll finish? Same as last season at this rate! Where do you think Reading will finish? In the playoffs. You have an excellent manager. And lastly...thoughts on Matt Mills? Yesterday, he looked like a slow donkey playing hoof ball. Your #26 looked better than Mills. Good luck for the season ahead...I look forward to the game at Fortress Madejski!
Ian pcp Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 If you want me to say that Reading will get promoted on the evidence of one game that I can't do. Anyone can beat anyone in this league on their day. Yes Reading did look good, but Class will shine through in the end and Leicester, along with West Ham will be promoted automatically and Cardiff look far better bet for promotion through the play offs. But who knows this is football, it's surprises and it's unpredictabilities is the main reason we all follow it.
FoxyLady85 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Sven is not the man for us and never has been-his tactics are wrong and he puts up with players who don't give a shit. i'm a Leicester fan who pays his money and has his own opinion there'll be a load of Leicester fans soon who will crawl out of svens arsehole and tell me what a nob i am and how wrong i am-here they come! Well said have never liked Sven and never will.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well said have never liked Sven and never will. He wasnt my first choice for Leicester manager when he came but we have to support him while he is here
lcfc_amie Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 what are your thoughts this season? How long do you think it will be before your team plays like a team that knows each other? Still really optimistic about the season, we weren't good yesterday, but hopefully we can get a win on Wednesday. Don't think it'll take the team too long to gel, they played quite well against Coventry, so hopefully in a couple of weeks. Do you think there are to many big ego's for the side to work as a unit? No, think we have less this year than we did last year. Last year we had a lot of loans from the PL, this year we've gone for more established championship players, so i don't think big egos will be a problem this season. Where do you think you'll finish? Hopefully in the automatic promotion places. You can see the quality of the players we have, just think it'll take a few weeks for us to gel. Where do you think Reading will finish? From the performance yesterday, in the playoffs. You have a good manager! I don't like playing you anymore, you are becoming our bogey team And lastly...thoughts on Matt Mills? Think he's a good defender, and he'll show that with us this season - he's the sort of defender we've been missing for the last couple of seasons. I just think the occasion got to him yesterday (debut home game, new captain, and against his old club) Have a bit of a soft spot for Reading, as my brother lives there. Good luck with the rest of the season (except in the return fixture )
Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 All I'm gonna say is Kebe is an absolute monster.
TrueRoyalRFC Posted 14 August 2011 Author Posted 14 August 2011 Three questions for you if you don't mind, what did you think of the 'embarasing' half time ent. What did you think of sol bamba. And did you think schmichael was over the top with his moaning? Would be good to get an opposition view on three 'hot' topics on our forum. Didn't see the half time entertainment - too busy buying refreshments. As our forum have rightly picked up on, Bamba looked very decent and composed - excellent imo. Didnt really notice Schmichael much - he was very vocal but looked a decent keeper.
TrueRoyalRFC Posted 14 August 2011 Author Posted 14 August 2011 All I'm gonna say is Kebe is an absolute monster. So very true. And thanks to all for your interesting views
leicesterisme Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 our defence was terrified of Kebe, apart from our sol bamba who will be playing top 6 premiership before the end of the season
Guest Bilo Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well said have never liked Sven and never will. So if the team clicks into place by the end of the month, goes on a 20 match unbeaten run and we win the league followed by consolidating our position in the Premier League, you still won't like Sven? Good luck with that one, I think you'd be in a minority of two or three.
CupidStunt Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I thought you were weaker than last year matt mills was no better than jack hobbs who we sold to Hull for peanuts we'll both be there or thereabouts our defence was terrified of Kebe, apart from our sol bamba who will be playing top 6 premiership before the end of the season Sven is not the man for us and never has been-his tactics are wrong and he puts up with players who don't give a shit, andy king was beaten to almost every ball, wellens runs around in circles and his precision sideways or backwards passing gives us no hope i'm a Leicester fan who pays his money and has his own opinion there'll be a load of Leicester fans soon who will crawl out of svens arsehole and tell me what a nob i am and how wrong i am-here they come! Jesus, about spat me tea out when i read that you reckon?
nickm Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 we don't have to like sven-if he takes us up we still don't have to like him-imho sven had long enough last season to show us how good he was-he acheived nothing with england, nothing with notts county and nothing with man city-i hope i'll be eating my words at the end of the season but i'm 49 now, i've seen lots of managers come and go and sven is just another on the list-cudda shudda wudda!
fox ache Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well said have never liked Sven and never will. Totally agree, and thats not jumping on the bandwagon..............He`s not exactly a tactical genius, and some of the players he has mentioned bringing in e.g Beckham has been nothing more than embarrasing (why would we want him !!). I still wouldnt Sven if we got promoted, we `SHOULD` get promoted with the money he`s` been given........Lets just hope our chairmen dont get bored if we havnt been succesful this year

fox ache Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Oh I don't know why we'd want Beckham, its not as if hes any good or anything... I think Beckhams name on the back of a Leicester shirt would be the main reason for the board to want him here
Danno Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Oh my God, it looks like we've had the biggest increase in ****** on this forum. Ever.
nickm Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 why on earth would we want beckham? we already have a complete midfield who are slow and second to the ball--i mean is it really worth carrying a player like andy king just because he gets the ocasional decent goal--one word hunger, that's something we just don't have!
Fox92 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I predicted before the season you will be up there again. McDermott seems to be a great tactical man manager (like Paul Lambert) and also a great motivator. We should be up at the top, but you don't know what Leicester team is going to turn up for the game. I thought we were good at Coventry (we stopped them at times), but we were horrible, even worser than that, on Saturday. As for Mills, I don't want to go into the detial but I have been to all three games this season where he hasn't impressed me. He doesn't seem to talk as captain and his passing is woeful.
TMELcfc Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 The Reading game, I hope, is a blessing in disguise. If Sven uses this game properly, and shows in front of the players, and staff, what a load of shit we were, and if we are all happy to stay in this division or not, then I think we could come out fighting!! I like Cardiff's approach, not scared to attack! Same with Blackpool, they have lost loads of players, but yet they still go out there, and are not scared of hard work and to attack. We have the best chance ever now to go up, so we have to attack it with some ruthless aggression for once!!!
