Spending my teen and early 20s years around Fosse Road North it seemed like I was in a pub goers paradise although I didn’t realise it at the time of course .

Within a 5/10 minute walk I had , the Rocket , Emmy, Robin Hood ,Blackbird, Friar Tuck, North Bridge tav , Foresters ,Crows Nest , Richmond ( not where it is now), Blue Moon(the best ;) ) , Cricketers Rest , Adventurers , Van Damme ( a couple more near north bridge that I can’t remember the names and the sanvey gate pubs weren’t much further ) the Swan , Tudor , Pool club , Napier and I think I may have forgot a few .

no doubt other parts of the city were just as well furnished with watering holes though :D

maybe this thread need to be renamed as old pub nostalgia :D

Used to drive past there in the car with my parents as a teenager and was most curious about the lunchtime entertainment that was advertised

The Victory and The Freemasons were my first regular watering holes as they were near my 6th form college

Er, yes, I think it was. Wasn't the sort of name I was thinking of but it could have been.

*toddles off to street view it*

Victory ( bedford arms) and The Freemasons were regulars of mine in the 80's. And don't worry too much about what you missed in the Van Damme as it was mostly some old drag queen miming to Gloria Gaynor and Shirley Bassey hits . Occasionally there was a stripper with cellulite legs and labrador eared boobs stripping down to her navy blue double gusset pants , and although it seemed all very exciting back then , by todays standards it seems so innocent :D

Glad I didn't go in now.

Would've cost me three Our Fathers and two Hail Mary's from Father Malone :)

I used to go in the Golden Age when i was a kid with my parents, wasn't a bad pub then but over the years boy did it become a slum! The last landlady to work there was my Auntie = i knew it was doomed then hahaha

Oh and what was that pub called that is now Maccy D's? The Moat was it? went in that when i was a kid aswell... Used to love The Windmill when i was a kid, that's the one that was near a church right? had shops opposite it... That was going out of Netherhall though and into the other village/whatever it was

Ahhh memories! been looking at Google Street View and The Windmill is now houses! been years since i went there, infact last time i went, The Windmill was all boarded up :(

Good to see The Humberstone Inn is still there, well it's still there on Google Street View, another pub i went in when young

Also, is the Neighbours in New Parks still open?

Yes it is, Seen someone get stabbed up in there.
