DB11 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 This must be the fastest that a team has made all three subs, without the physio even leaving the technical area! After a minute, Megson substituted his goalkeeper and within 18 minutes, another two 'reserve' players replaced first teamers. The JPT has a rule whereby eight of your starting eleven must be "first teamers", to stop clubs putting reserve teams out, so Megson has got round this rule by withdrawing first teamers early and replacing them with kids and reserve players. David Prutton walked off laughing and then sat down joking with his team mates. Do you think it's fair? Surely the paying spectators must have been slightly annoyed They ended up losing on penalties as well
shailen Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 If he didnt want to play those players he doesnt have too..hes the manager and he should be able to pick whatever team he wants. And how can you decide which players are first teamers, and which team is the strongest eleven...its all subjective...ridiculous rule tbh...like blackpool and wolves last seasin...if you have a squad you have the right to play whichever 11 you want to play, noone can come and tell you that those 11 were shit...its the managers choice to do what he wants ffs.
ScouseFox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Clever. He's the manager he should play who he likes. He's followed the rules.
The Doctor Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 How do you decide whether or not a player is a "first teamer" - particularly this early on in the season?
