A heart attack... but head injuries and 6 men arrested... all Wales fans?? My link Six men have been arrested after a football fan died following an attack outside Wembley stadium ahead of an England v Wales match. Police were called to an incident involving a number of men before the Euro 2012 qualifier . The victim - named by fellow football supporters as Cardiff City fan Mike Dye - was found with head injuries on a concourse area outside the turnstiles at around 7.20pm on Tuesday. It is thought the 44-year-old also suffered a heart attack. He was taken to a central London hospital but pronounced dead at 8.50pm. Six men, all believed to be Wales fans, were arrested in relation to the incident. A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesman said: "I can confirm that LAS got a call at 7.20pm to reports of an assault outside Wembley Stadium. "Staff treated a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Extensive efforts were made to resuscitate the patient and he was taken to hospital." Staff on standby at the international match were on the scene within three minutes, the spokesman said. Police have yet to formally identify the victim. Cardiff City FC released a statement after the death: "Late on Tuesday night details reached us concerning a tragedy where a Wales and Cardiff City supporter died at the match between England and Wales. "Out of respect for the family of the supporter, the sensitivity of the situation and until full details and circumstances are ascertained, no statements will be made until deemed fit by proper channels. Thank you." A Facebook tribute page has been set up in memory of the victim. A Welsh player in the match, which England won 1-0, also posted a Twitter message. Joe Ledley tweeted: "I can't believe a Welsh fan has (died) tonight shocking. My thoughts go out to his family."
acooling08 Posted 7 September 2011 Posted 7 September 2011 Sounds like he was beaten up, and the shock/trauma of the incident caused him to have a heart attack. Shocking really, thoughts are with his family.

ajthefox Posted 7 September 2011 Posted 7 September 2011 Absolutely awful. Some football are just scum, violence has no place in the game.
