Bugg Posted 10 September 2011 Posted 10 September 2011 Not really read into him, but intrigued to know where Schlupp came from tbf - German Under 19 international. Milton Keynes
ramadaone Posted 10 September 2011 Author Posted 10 September 2011 The manager of the under 9's laughed at me and said this was rubbish, he did say that it would be Liverpool if any club.... Can't falsify this rumour yet, who knows but I doubt this is true Your manager obvioulsy isn't that well informed because it is a definate runner according to my source - as someone else said as long as you live within 1 1/2 hours of a clubs particular development centre then you are OK and this is how the "big clubs" are getting round it - Villa rumoured to be moving into the Wellbeck set up at Woodhouse and WBA at Fleckney so even more competition on the horizon - perhaps thats not such a bad thing ?
mallen Posted 12 September 2011 Posted 12 September 2011 I am Maurice Allen, the General Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Allexton & New Parks FC. There has not been any discussion with Manchester City with regards to setting up an academy of any sort at our ground in New Parks. What there has been is an enquiry from a Manchester City representative seeking some more information on the club. In respect of me " not being a Foxes fan" can the correspondent explain why I have had a season ticket at Leicester for over 20 years and have been supporting them since 1966. Gentlemen, please deal in facts befoe starting to use words like "disgraceful".
shen Posted 12 September 2011 Posted 12 September 2011 Not yet mentioned is Gradel who was booted out as NP didn't like him for a pittance and has since moved for around £2m back to France with us getting 17.5% sell on according to Bates. After Piper debuted in 2000 the next player (who actually made a decent amount of app/impact on the 1st team) didn't break through until Stearman did in 2004, Wesolowski was 2 years later in 06, Mattock in 07 (last game of the season) & King October 2007 but wasn't a regular until the following season (cue a Thracian rant about how he should of been). frankly that is incredibly poor, given we were skint throughout most of that time the Kids had every chance of overtaking someone to break in but never did, I remember thinking that at the start of the 08/09 season, that it was Chambers big chance but he never even looked like breaking into the side. Get your facts straight. Piper didn't make his debut until October 2001. Next academy player to make it wasn't Stearman but Matt Heath, Chris O'Grady and Tommy Wright all sold for fees. Then came Stearman. Then came Sheehan, conveniently forgotten and then Wesolowski. You also forgot Porter who debuted in 2006. Followed by Mattock, King and now Schlupp. That's 12 players since October 2001, an average of more than one player a season. It certainly paints a different picture to the one you're portraying ...
