10 great 90's albums that most people aren't familiar with

Let's try and limit this to artists who probably WOULDN'T be able to headline the outdoor stage of Summer Sundae (a few well known artists were mentioned in the other threads, not unreasonably, but I'm after obscurity really - hidden gems, if you like. Otherwise, if we're going by the "man on the street" criterion, I would have listed practically all of Tom Waits output from 1973 onwards in these threads, and he's in the rock 'n' roll hall of fame!)

1) Adorable - Against Perfection

2) Spirit Of The West - Go Figure

3) Tiger - We Are Puppets

4) The Blue Aeroplanes - Swagger

5) Foil - Spread It All Around

6) The Pale - Here's One We Made Earlier

7) The Stairs - Mexican R & B

8) Cud - Asquarius

9) A House - I Am The Greatest

10) Bonnie "Prince" Billy - I See A Darkness

On the other hand, going by the "man on the street" context, some great lesser known albums by artists who probably COULD headline Summer Sundae (not in order)

1) Lo-Fidelity All Stars - How To Operate With A Blown Mind

2) The Longpigs - The Sun is Often Out

3) Bomb The Bass - Unknown Territory

4) The Auteurs - New Wave

5) Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms

6) Wilco - Being There

7) Boards Of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children

8) Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

10) Sultans Of Ping FC - Casual Sex In The Cineplex (not that we'd let a bunch of Forest fans headline...)

Band name first is FAR more sensible. You wouldn't go and look in a record shop (remember them?) under "Z" for Ziggy Stardust, would you? :dunno:

We're English and therefore put the adjective ahead of the noun :P

Noun ahead adjective is what foreign languages do (quite sensibly, but hey!)

You Sir have excellent taste eventhough I prefer the first Tindersticks album

Did you see Grant Lee Buffalo at the Uni? One of the best concerts I have ever attended.

No - I have a vague recollection of them playing there back in the day, but was probably in the period of 3-4 years just after I got married where I decided it was unfair of me to be going off to concerts and buying music because my wife is deaf.

Of course, now I know better. It was never what she thought either - just my own sense of warped guilt.
