Jermaine Beckford is he good enough?

After he was subbed at half time against Millwall he went to the bar for 15 minutes then left the ground.

He`s always had an attitude problem and a chip on his shoulder. Just ask any Leeds fan. If he`s scoring goals you can tolerate that. But when the lads all need to pull together that sort of attitude makes things worse. I still think he`ll score goals and hope he does soon.

For the record when Neil Danns found out he wasn`t in the team or squad he left the ground before kick off.

These are just 2 examples of what may not be the most harmonious dressing room. Which would partly explain the performance against Millwall and the on the pitch indifferance with each other when passes went astray.

Apparently Danns was 'picking up his family'?

I think you may have hit the nail on the head..

Is it me or is it only Kapser that appears to show any passion?

We don`t appear to have any other player that shows signs of geeing everyone up. Not even our Captain. And certainly not Sven on the touchline as that`s not his style. But on Saturday we were crying out for a Steve Walsh type character.

If the reports are correct Mick, and I can only surmise..it would appear that the players are beginning to rule the roost. I agree with MC on this...many have a cocky attitude and this MUST be stamped out before its too late.. My concern is that Sven can't punch his way out of a paper bag, let alone bring Beckford into check and under control.. Youre correct about Beckford and the Leeds fans.. I have mates who are Leeds fans and they thought he was a real willy puller.

He can be a willy puller all he likes if he gets his scoring boots on but bad attitudes like his will spread like a cancer amongst other players when things are not going right. I also think you`re right about Svens ability to deal with him or others. Could you see other stronger managers like Martin O`Neil, Fergie, Alladyce, Clough, Warnock etc putting up with his attitude?

Ruined my weekend the result. Still feel peeved now. Only highlight today was seeing the face on my Leicester born Manchester United colleague at work this morning..... priceless!!!!! Needless to say not many of us took the p*ss

Clearly I can't say what his attitude has been like for Leicester but I always thought he got a bad press for that "element of his game" at Leeds. He's a selfish striker, of that there's precious little doubt, so he certainly did little in the way of tracking back because he always wanted to stay where the goals are to be had. However, if there was some running about and closing down needed in the last third, he'd always get through plenty of work. He cared, too. You could see it in his eyes when he scored and in his voice in interviews.

I can't say for sure that he'll come good but I believe he will. Sure, what he did for Leeds was not at this level of football but I don't think that the difference is so stark it's beyond him (and as has been said, he has a good few Premiership goals to his name, they don't come gift wrapped). He may just need time and for the midfield to figure out what he thrives off (the classic ball over the top being the main thing, tbh).

Listen, if you lot do decide that you really don't want him, we'll welcome him back with open arms. Just don't expect bates to pay you any money for the trouble ;)
