Guest Col city fan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 What's his reported weekly pay? 25 k
cosmos Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford is plenty good enough but he needs to be fed the ball early, it's no use messing about with this silly passing in the middle of the field-we need direct football!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 25 k That's not much. I can forgive him for these inept performances now
HoustonFox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Walking away from the ground today about 20 minutes early, group of lads were calling him a lazy nigger. Thought it was a bit harsh, but certainly he has been sooooo disappointing so far. No need to repeat or post that here. Don't even give those morons a mention (yes I realise I am mentioning it too).
lcfcsnow Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 No, and as I said when he signed it's Dj Campbell all over again.
HoustonFox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford is plenty good enough but he needs to be fed the ball early, it's no use messing about with this silly passing in the middle of the field-we need direct football! This. Ball is too slow and we just muck around with it. Doesn't help Sven still doesn't seem to know his best XI. Keeps tinkering.
Grewks Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Good enough - yes, committed enough - no, although if he was on in the second half he would have been on the end of dyers crosses, there was no creativity for him but i dislike his attitude.
LukeyZade Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 beckford hasnt been giving the right chance, theres no attack play to him, we just hold it in midfield and hoof it over or through ball that wont get through half the time. balls in box is oppertunities. yak, fryatt had poor ball dribble touches, passes, they still scored a few as balls got into the box.
lcfcliam Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford has been woeful in every game so far the only goal he has scored was put on a plate for him and it came off the defender! for me he HAS to be dropped.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 He has been so very poor in the games ive seen him play in for City so far, very poor first touch in particular
smudger63 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 He has never been a back to the goal type of striker, his touch and lay off passes have never been up to much. I was shocked to hear sven say of him, after he bought him, that he was an all round striker, that can play up front on his own with his back to goal, as well as part of a two, because that has quite simply never been his kind of game. He thrives on balls over the top, and in behind the centre halves, and quality early crosses, something that in all fairness, he`s not really had so far, since he`s been here. Give him the right service, and he will score goals. He is a lazy moaning git though, but then he always has been!
believer Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 He gave the ball away for one of the goals again today amongst a host of other shite play
cc_star Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Schlupp & Howard would do a far better job for us. Beckford's game is a fooking joke (I'm really not bothered about his lack of goals) he has zero positional ability, no knowledge of where his team-mates are & he loses the ball almost 100% of the time. He looks a shadow of the player who shone so well in the 3rd tier, although Leeds played the ball to him exactly how he wanted it practically building the side around his ability and of course, defences are massively worse too.
believer Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 Sell him to back to Leeds, though he'd probably just shine again tbf. Maybe he is the type of player who needs a big club?
Guest ttfn Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Today he was an utter joke. Again. No movement off the ball, no strength on the ball, and one of the worst first touches I've seen from a City centre-forward. I've seen nothing in 7 matches to suggest he's going to score more than 10 goals this season. I'd be surprised if he got that many.
Brooksy Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Panic buy from Sven. Beckfords only here for the money and clearly isn't bothered about scoring. Would rather have Schlupp playing
Dylan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Agreed, definitely rather have Schlupp. Didn't look at all bothered today.
Guest shearfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford is proving to be a terrible signing, Schlupp should be playing or Vassell
Matt Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 No. However what I will say is even though he isn't good enough, he's a lot better than Maynard, lets look at it in that positive light.
gazfox9 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 On todays evidence no. I said to a mate when we bought him ( and I really hope to be proved wrong) that all hes done is score 30 in league one........ so did a certain Matty Fryatt. Time will tell but he's been less than impressive thus far.
