Nick Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Simon: Why don't you just say what you mean, which is that you would like to push me into a canal, Mister Partridge? Alan: Alright then, I, Alan Partridge, would like to push you, Simon Fisher, into a very deep, disused canal
MC Prussian Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Yes, definately, clearly a very talented footballer. Scored goals (good goals as well) at a higher level than this. Will he put in the work? No, he is here for money, deep down we all know that, players dont drop from the premiership to this league whilst playing semi-regularly for anything else. He is here to score big goals in big games, that is what he will be judged on, we could of won tonight with Hammond and De Vries back up front. Not with Paddy McCarthy and Nils-Eric Johansson in the back. Besides, hasn't anyone told you yet? Footballers are only in for the money. They don't care about football. (Caution: Statement may contain traces of irony)
The Doctor Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Is it cos he's black? He's big, he's black, he's as lazy as the yak, jermaine, jermaine. I've only seen him play once in the flesh (v brighton) and he looked quite good that match, just give him time before writing him off.

Nick Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Looks like Ade Akinbiyi on speed in that video. and why is it back to front? Good question. I personally think it was filmed from a different camera located on the other side of the pitch then broadcast to an HD TV user who recorded it using a camcorder and a mirror. I'm eating marmalade and fingering my pancreas.

Nick Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Is it cos he's black? No Stan, it's not. However while you are re-developing your argument here's a video of Stevie G having a chat and a few holes of golf with the fat bloke from Gavin & Stacey:
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Beckford is the new Yakubu to some fans, nothing he does will ever be good enough. Nick Marmite is a poor mans
StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I'm not convinced that it's cos he's not black. There was no mention of hate or disliking towards any white member of our football club. There is discrimination amongst us. This should not be allowed.

Donut Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Jermaine Beckford is plenty good enough to get goals for us. The problem is supplying him with adequate service that he can do.

chili_con_carne Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Dont get how people are saying it was a well taken header. I have seen the goal again on sky sports news and it takes quite a big deflection. It looked as though it was actually going wide but for the deflection. Anyway im sure he will be happy with the 2 grand goal bonus or whatever to add to whatever ridiculous wage hes getting
Raw Dykes Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Beckford is the new Yakubu to some fans, nothing he does will ever be good enough. Nick Marmite is a poor mans Bollocks! Vegemite is just very weak Marmite. You have to put about four times as much Vegemite on your toast to get near the delicious flavour of Marmite. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15269488.stm Looks like the BBC messed up again. Exactly what record did Jermaine Beckford break when he signed for us? It certainly wasn't the highest fee paid. It wasn't even the highest transfer fee we paid in that transfer window.
scottthefox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I thought he put in a decent performance tonight, got his goal and was unlucky on a number of occassions. He seemed genuinely bothered when he didn't quite pull things off and you could tell he felt he answered a few crowd sceptics by his goal celebration.
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Don't read too much into it. It's genuinely about marmalade. Please more of the 'marmalade' stuff.. It's genuinely entertaining? And the reposts are even better!

Beckford genuinely seems to want to shine.. Maybe he's trying too hard? A few goals should calm him down a bit
