Yes, definately, clearly a very talented footballer. Scored goals (good goals as well) at a higher level than this.

Will he put in the work? No, he is here for money, deep down we all know that, players dont drop from the premiership to this league whilst playing semi-regularly for anything else.

He is here to score big goals in big games, that is what he will be judged on, we could of won tonight with Hammond and De Vries back up front.

Not with Paddy McCarthy and Nils-Eric Johansson in the back.

Besides, hasn't anyone told you yet? Footballers are only in for the money. They don't care about football.

He's big, he's black, he's as lazy as the yak, jermaine, jermaine.

I've only seen him play once in the flesh (v brighton) and he looked quite good that match, just give him time before writing him off.

I personally think it was filmed from a different camera located on the other side of the pitch then broadcast to an HD TV user who recorded it using a camcorder and a mirror.

Dont get how people are saying it was a well taken header. I have seen the goal again on sky sports news and it takes quite a big deflection. It looked as though it was actually going wide but for the deflection. Anyway im sure he will be happy with the 2 grand goal bonus or whatever to add to whatever ridiculous wage hes getting :D

Bollocks! Vegemite is just very weak Marmite. You have to put about four times as much Vegemite on your toast to get near the delicious flavour of Marmite.

Looks like the BBC messed up again. Exactly what record did Jermaine Beckford break when he signed for us? It certainly wasn't the highest fee paid. It wasn't even the highest transfer fee we paid in that transfer window.

I thought he put in a decent performance tonight, got his goal and was unlucky on a number of occassions. He seemed genuinely bothered when he didn't quite pull things off and you could tell he felt he answered a few crowd sceptics by his goal celebration.

Back to the real world... I agree with you.. Beckford genuinely seems to want to shine.. Maybe he's trying too hard? A few goals should calm him down a bit
