FFS Get Out Of Svens Arse

Successful managers like Sir Alex Ferguson know when a side needs freshening up. They would not have been satisfied with the minimal effort shown during the second half against Watford.

To go into yesterday's game with the same 16 players was a massive misjudgment, as Sven himself now acknowledges. Danns and Howard, possibly even Schlupp, should have been on the bench at least.

Instead a collection of lightweights found themselves bullied and outfought in every area of the pitch by a side willing to battle and scrap for their manager and their fans - just as when we visited the den last season and surrendered in the same abject fashion.

As a manager with infinitely better credentials in this league than Sven once said, "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail".

It's a lesson that Sven, after over a year in charge, still seems unable to grasp.

Isnt that what physios are for? to assess whether players are injured or not? jaded or not? tired or not? and to then feedback to the manager

who's running this bloody team? Sven and his staff, or the players?

:frusty:

I'm still surprised how a massively knackered King and Wellens made it into the first team yesterday and why Danns, Schlupp or Gallagher weren't included on the bench.

We were in dire need of pace and creativity.

Also, Johnson could've been subbed earlier to make way for Fernandes.

I sense the lack of a midfielder who actually supports the two strikers up front with passes or by venturing into the penalty area or coming close to it.

Which is also why we've hardly seen any free-kicks given to us outside or just outside the opposing penalty area. No one gets stuck in.

All supplies to Nugent and Beckford were basically produced by one man - Paul Konchesky, a left-back. Which is a rather frightening fact.

I agree...the lack of creativity was massively obvious..and you're correct..how did these 'tired' players make it into the first team?

This smacks of player power over management... which is even more scary.

I genuinely don't think Sven is in charge. If he was, that team yesterday would not have been full of 'tired' players..because he would have known who was fit and ready and who wasnt..

Surely?

I'm amazed at how some of our fans seek to defend the undefendable namely Sven. This season to date I have seen our team play one yes just one game with any style and attacking flair and that was against Derby. The rest has been a massive let down to say the very least. I am not given to knee jerk reactions but I have seen enough this season to come to the conclusion that neither Sven or the team is good enough to get us promotion.

The buck stops with the manager , he brought the players to the club and it is his tactics and man management that must be judged. And even the most optimistic of us now feel like the little boy in the Hans Christian Anderson tale who is compelled to shout out that the King is not wearing any clothes. the problem as i see it is that the owners are in a difficult position, do they say enough is enough and get rid of Sven now and write this season off and employ a new manager who can ride out this season and get his own players in for next season. Or do they let sven see out his contract and just hope he can pull it off ?

Personally I would cut my losses and get rid now because it is patently clear he not the man to get us into the Prem . The players don't play like they are fired up or understand his tactics. Ok we are still only two points off a play off place but that is because the rest of the league is as piss poor as us not because we are any good.
