Spending more money than most clubs and still not being in the top 6, playing four central midfielders instead of wingers, not even challening the opposition defence, being inconsistant, players showing no effort and loosing to clubs in the bottom three are all more embarrassing than wanting the man who controls all of this out.

Good post and sums it up for me...

Last years team was relegation fodder that under Sven performed way above their ability until the crunch came at the end of the season. A bad manager would have kept faith with the Waghorn, Howard, Weale, Hobbs etc and had another go - Sven buys a new team - most teams aren't lucky enough to be able to do this. The new team has shown signs of coming together but is still a new team and makes mistakes. Not all the players bought will turn out to be winners but over a period of time (let's hope for half a season) a new stronger team should emerge. If that team is in touch with the play offs half way through the season and then comes good this will give them a fine opportunity to push on and try to claim one of the three top spots.

What could be gained by bringing in yet another new face and changing it all again? Really guys, get behind the team, accept they won't win every game they play and be happy that at least some of the new signings (Schmeical, Mills, Nugent, Peltier) look the part. It may take a few more games, even 20 more to hit the right formula and we may lose a few more along the way but we are still a win away from the top 6 and only 5 points off an automatic promotion spot - and we are a quarter of the season in. Don't kid yourselves that we played attractive football under O Neill, Little or Adams or even Pearson - we were often shite but muscled our way through, promoted several times through the play offs. For some reason, everybody loved us in those days and I felt a real sense of pride in the club and its fans but right now the 'lose and we sack the manager' and the 'win and we are going up' mentality is a bit too extreme - we are all unhappy with a defeat but it's just a defeat - no one goes through any season without being defeated so accept it and move on.

I know where you are coming from, but you need to look deeper in my opinon. Its not just about winning and loosing; look at the way the team is selected and plays. I am not fully confident in the manager at this current moment in time, and I question his selection and tactics constantly.

I don't think its 'lose and we sack the manager', I just think that Sven has spent millions on this team and still not improved it that much from where we were. I know we arn't going to win every match, and I accept a defeat, but its the fact that: we don't look organised, strong, determined, quick and creative all on top of having no width. Under Pearson especially, we had to grind out games and we were good at that (Reading away for an example), but I do not see that grit, steel and determination with Sven as manager.

And, we always get behind the team. Our support at home and away games is fantastic. But, I just feel that we go to many games supporting and getting behind the team, and the team don't show any dedication and effort at all. It is so frustrating and horrible.

All the managers you mention had records of achievement with us - the current incumbent doesn't and never will do.

And none would have sent a team out to perform as ineptly in front of their own fans as he did yesterday. If it had been a one-off, we could indeed have moved on, but everyone who witnessed the equally pitiful capitulation at Birmingham last weekend knows that it isn't.

The team is inadequate to do the job for which it has been assembled. The responsibility for this failing lies at the door of one man, and one man only.
