Larry_LCFC Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Just come on this forum for the first time since the game and some of the stuff im reading is more embarrasing than the performance. All the knee-jerk threads on here is absolutely riduclous. Do people really need to make a new thread each time they want they want to call for sven to be sacked or moan about today in general. Its chaotic. Lets put it in perspective. We had a SHIT day at the office and yes we were clueless. BUT we are also only a few points from the playoffs and we are only in October fgs. Seriously stop the moaning and give sven more time. Anyone would think we were in relegation. We can only get better. Get a grip!
EnglishOxide Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 People were calling for Sven's head from the moment he got here. Nothing he does or achieves will stop that i'm afraid.
Kitchandro Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 It could get better, or it could carry on the same. Or it could get worse People were calling for Sven's head from the moment he got here. Nothing he does or achieves will stop that i'm afraid. What has he achieved so far then for you to make that rash statement?
blueredswed Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 As I use to say stand back our TEAM :scarf:
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 It could get better, or it could carry on the same. Or it could get worse We have shown some pure class against Brigton, Derby and Southampton thats fills me with confidence. If Sven gets us to play like that all the time we'll be laughing. It cant get any worse after today.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I NEVER call for a managers head, I did call for peter taylors bollocks though...
Corky Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I've seen three games this week, which followed a thumping, joyous win over our neighbours. Each one of the games has seen either a flat, below par or crap performance. In the Derby match I saw passing football, movement off the ball, quick thinking from players and a willingness to shoot. I've seen little of that this week. Yes, it is October. Yes we are relatively close to the top six. But we're 13th, having just lost 3-0 to a side who hadn't won in 9 matches and had picked up 2 points from six away matches. We've outspent the division by a mile. Half of it sits above us. Forgive us for feeling less than optimistic this evening.

Forgive us for feeling less than optimistic this evening. I totally understand and i feel exactly the same. But calling for the managers head and slagging off our players wont get us up the table. We need to move on, back the team, back the manager and remember how great we can play. We have plenty of time. Things will come good

If Sven gets us to play like that all the time we'll be laughing. It cant get any worse after today. But we have played poorly more often than well. Coventry (though a good result so we'll let him off) Bristol City, Reading, Barnsley, Cardiff, Birmingham, Millwall, Southampton second half (a game we were very lucky to win). That tells me that the good performances were the ones that were out of the ordianary and won't be a regular occurance.

Things will come good We were 2-0 down to a team near the bottom of the table today and the fans got right behind the team at the start of the second half. I will get right behind the team at games. But on here I will let out my frustration and be brutally honest, and whilst that might not get us up the table, it won't stop us from doing so either.

Things will come good I haven't called for the manager's head, I don't like doing it unless we're in extreme danger. I have backed the team, I've travelled a lot of miles to the last two home games and will be going to West Ham. I'm afraid I expect better, I don't expect us to win every game but to at least show some quality on the pitch. We can play well, which makes it all the more frustrating when we fail to regularly do so.

Give some sort of reason why 'things must come good' or please stop spouting such nonsense... In the words of Kevin Keegan 'I'd love it, love it' if it came good, but on what basis will it?
wagfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Just arrived home ( southampton ) knackered, out of pocket and very disallusioned, but it's right we can't sack Sven. alway's a Fox.

Seriously stop the moaning and give sven more time. Anyone would think we were in relegation. We can only get better. Get a grip! Let's look at the facts: 1) Three home defeats so far - all eminently avoidable against bottom-half sides. 2) No back-to-back wins since February. 3) A total of TWO away wins in the same timescale. 4) A central defender whining about the lack of first-team opportunities, and then failing to perform when those oportunities arise. 5) The manager responsible for the best City side of the past decade takes three of his squad with him and their new club outperform us. 6) A big-money striker displays serious attitude issues, and seems unable to form basic working relationships with any of his team-mates. 7) Other members of the squad (Schlupp, Howard, Berner, Moussa) seem frozen out for no apparent reason. 8) There is no visible leadership on the pitch among the outfield players. 9) Peterborough, a team who lost their best player in the summer and were widely tipped for relegation, sit above us in the table despite having a fraction of our resources and transfer budget. 10) We have had THREE decent halves (Forest away, Southampton and Derby at home) out of 26 to date. That's nowhere near the consistency needed to make the top 6, let alone the top 2. But hey, some of us just like to whinge for the hell of it. How dare we expect the manager, on one of the league's most lucrative contracts, to deliver consistent results for us..

Something has to change, whether it be the squad or the tactics but all this negativity is just harmful to everyone. Its time like these the players need everyone to get behind them. The 3 or 4 threads calling for svens head are just stupid. Fair enough if we were in the bottom 3 with no points but in reality we have had a decent start. 19 points really isnt that bad. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but some people on here just need to take a breath before they post because some of the trash on this forum tonight is beyond silly.

Larry_LCFC Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 Then answer my question and stop saying the same things over and over... How will it come good? How can you say things wont come good? We have the players, money and ability to be a proper force to be reckoned with. At the minute we are shit and inconsistent. Looking back to previous seasons, alot of teams who end up in the top 6 all have had shit runs. Look at Blackpool the season they went up. Came from nowhere. They pulled it together and got promotion. Dont start attacking me for standing up for the team I love. If you want to slate the team then you go right ahead. See where it gets us.

But 12 teams have had an equally "decent", or better, start than us. We are aiming to be better than at least 18, if not 22, clubs in this league. It would be a footballing disaster if we were in the bottom three but we were never likely to be.

Add to this 3 away goals scored in 3 months, failing to replace the first team coach, not buying a winger despite spending £14m+. Oh yes, West Ham and Burnely will be shitting themselves... you're right we need to get a grip. 11th place in the league is definately still achievable.

But We are only a quarter of the way through the season. In reality the table could be the opposite by the end. We have to give it to christmas before we start panicing. If we went on a 5 game win streak starting with West Ham, suddenly sven would be a god. I dont buy all this "the team needs time to gel" shit but its still too soon in my opinion.

Totally disagree when fans show discontent it gives players a kick up the arse. If they car one ounce about Leicester City they will pull their socks up. Forest changed things when Mclaren was shite and they've won back to back against top sides home and away so also think people saying changing manager is back to square one....WRONG. Players at Leicester are quality and can win this league with the right manager! City ill I die!
