THEFATBASTARD Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 So who has faith that the current regime will get the right man this time? The first major decision the the new owners made was to get Sven in,so the fact that they have sacked the man proves they got it wrong. They are now on strike two...Now their judgements must come under the microscope..How many fans think the next manager will be here 5 years? That is the core of our problem, the revolving door is a recipe for failure. I guess we will all learn the hard way..

artursteppe Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 The club have someone in mind. It may all be agreed already. I cannot believe this is 'knee-jerk'. I do not think our Thai boys are stupid. We will have someone who can motivate the players. That person will then have time to evaluate what he has at the club so that he can get rid of the crap and bring in the new in January. ( A December change of manager would not be ideal ). That person will not only be someone who can get us promoted but will also be a recognisable 'name' in Thailand. ( Billy Davies could get us promoted, but would probably be sacked at the earliest opportunity once in the Prem ). We all know who best fits the criteria I have set out above. However people are saying he is probably waiting for a Prem job. The only job he might ever be offered that could be considered a better opportunity for him than coming to us would be Sunderland, wealthy owners and his boyhood favourite team. Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool or Spurs will never have him. He would never go to Everton, Villa, Newcastle or any other Prem club. Leicester City could appeal to him, a club with the sort of money and ambition he might like. John Robertson's happiest time in football since he stopped playing was apparently at Leicester ( it is said some of his family members are Leicester fans ). Maybe his boss liked it here as well.
Tielemans63 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 I'm not sure. You could argue that bringing Sven in was exactly the right call as we were bottom of the league and needed a lift quickly - Sven did that. Now it could be argued that SGE has taken us as far as he can and now someone else is needed to make the next step. Ruthless yes, but if the next manager does take us up the Thais will have got it spot on.
steve54 Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 At least they gave him a full year, we are not yet back to the Milan Mandaric merry-go-round.
