stockyfox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 For crying out loud, I cannot for the life of me understand why some of our supposed fans are getting so worked up about those who they regard as possible candidates to replace SGE. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion but apart from the popular wish to see Martin O'Neill return, I do find it quite worrying that there is such divided and polarised opinion about others that may not even have any intention of applying anyway. So if MON doesn't come and A.N.Other is appointed, what then? Can we expect to see posts that immediately ridicule the appointment irrespective? For while you might wallow in your perceived criticism, you are not doing anything for the cause of Leicester City F.C. To me, the most important and essential requirement is to ensure the continued success of the Club - OUR club. The Club belongs to the fans. Owners, Managers, Players may come and go but without the fans, there is no Club. Whoever is appointed manager will be the decision of the Board – not you, not me, not Radio Leicester, not anybody else. If you feel so strongly that you cannot support that decision, then I would respectfully ask you to consider taking your support elsewhere. We as fans need more than ever to show and positively demonstrate our loyalty and support for the Club. The Club desperately needs stability if it is to survive, especially in the current climate where Money is God. The owners have sacked Sven in the interests of safeguarding the future of the Club. They would not have taken that decision lightly and the new manager will be left in no doubt whatsoever as to what is expected of him. To my mind, the decision to sack Sven wasn't down to just the final result last Saturday nor was it due to the various disappointing inconsistent performances to date. In my opinion, it was the loud prolonged booing by Foxes fans, first at half-time but then far more so at the final whistle, coupled with the derogatory chants of the Millwall fans during the game That would really have hurt the owners pride and coming on top of everything else, was the final straw.
whoareyaaa Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 If O'neill did come back this should be his entrance. Hilsboro - final reply! plus the others!

Great post again mate.. You're spot on.. We'll get who we get, when we get him... End of story
Izzet is God Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Fair play stocky...but IMO I can't really see the board purely sacking Sven down to fans booing the Millwall performance. As fans who put money into the club week in/week out those that boo try to voice thier opinion of 'value for money performances' as a negative response in a kind of constructive criticism kind of way. Millwall have the worst away record in the league atm and hadn't won in 10 before Sat, surely this got the boards backs up a little. I for one have never booed a half time performance but can see where those that do boo are coming from...it's the same with the England fans during the last World Cup to which Rooney was crying like a small child. The board are looking at the best interests of the club and it looks as though, they have decided to act sooner rather then later with the sacking of Sven. I was dissappointed to see Sven go but I am a Foxes fan not a Sven fan and want to see our club progress. If the board/owners feel that action needed taking now, surely we have to back them after they have pumped huge amounts of money into our club...this is what I am doing. Lets just hope they appoint the right manager who can take the team up the table and impress the board during that time. We need to stay positive...we're only 5 points off 2nd! Up the foxes!
MC Prussian Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 The Club belongs to the fans. Sorry to disappoint you, Pete. But since last summer, Leicester City FC fully belongs to the Raksiaksorns and their consortium friends. Still, I'll try to do my best to support the team and the new manager (whomever that will be), regardless of how upset I was and still am about the dismissal of Sven-Göran Eriksson this early into the season. Alas, onwards and upwards. It starts at Upton Park.
Kitchandro Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Yeh fans booed them off at half time, they booed at the end, but they got behind the team during the game, when it matters. Not that it helped, they continued to let US down. Frankly, that was the kind of performance that deserved booing, because there was clearly a lack of desire, effort and willingness to take repsonsibility from a number of players. If I was a player I would have been very surprised to have come out to that support in the second half if I'd put in a first half performance like that. It seems some people are very quick to blame the fans for things going wrong but rarely give them any credit when they deserve it. People shouldn't be so negative about the lifeblood of the club. And if you think booing is why he was sacked then you're sadly mistaken. Agree with the rest of what you say though, we need to get behind our club at times like this. WYS and KTF and all that.
StarFox Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 For Crying Out Loud,,,,your post is too long. It's not worth reading all that for one persons view so I didn't bother *walks away*

scottthefox Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 If O'neill did come back this should be his entrance. Hilsboro - final reply! plus the others! YES! This takes me back to when I was about 6 years old when my Dad used to take me to the games. I used to love it when this song came on and every time I hear it I remember the days when it was great to be a City fan. I'm getting nostalgic about this and I'm only 19, is that allowed?

Unfortunately in business if you want feedback on whether or not you are succesfull, you would look to your client base to see their thoughts. Since Sven arrived, how many 'Sack Sven' topics has there been? How many people have rung the phone in on Mondays or after the game saying he should be sacked? If you look back at it, I would say the negativity towards Sven has far outweighed the positive so the owners will always bow to crowd pressure even if it may not be completely the right thing to do. YES! This takes me back to when I was about 6 years old when my Dad used to take me to the games. I wish they'd play this after the games instead of that ****ing Black Eyed Peas track.
