As soon as he pleaded guilty to manslaughter the jury were always going to deem it murder. Probably thought the prosecution would accept it, ended up making it pretty easy for them.

Anybody know if that bloke who the papers outed as the 'murderer' got a shit load of compensation? Poor guy had all sorts of stories told about him and was made to look guilty before even being questioned.

Yeah, he settled for damages, I think they said about 90 grand? Could be wrong. But you are right the poor guy was labelled all the usual things 'loner' etc. What is more disturbing is the police role in it and forensics, it was almost as if they were trying to frame the guy.

I hate myself for thinking this but whenever I read about the story I can't help but notice that it seems like she was going to cheat on her fiance that night with Tabak before he turned out to be a ****ing psycho.

That's basically the fantasy defence that Tabak presented at the trial. But the jury made it very clear they didn't believe a word of it.

Now it's emerged that Tabak was a sicko who enjoyed watching extreme porn sites showing women being strangled. Poor Jo just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
