Leicester City have been linked with a move for former Celtic forward Teddy Bjarnason.

The 24-year-old Icelandic international has one-year left on his current deal with IFK Gothenburg, but he has confirmed that he would consider a move back abroad.

Bjarnason, a striker or winger, spent four-years with Celtic, but he made just one appearance for The Bhoys.

"If a good foreign club makes an offer, I would like to move." Bjarnasson told Sportbladet.

"But do I get a key role, I might consider to stay. It depends on the new coach and what he wants."

Seems someone rates him.

Is this a hangover from the old Sven era (the Swedish link), a case of the board acting alone / on advice from within coaching staff, or is it a case of lining up someone our anonymous new manager - assuming he's already lined-up - would like to bring in?

Certainly it'd have to be someone who's watched him very very closely, there's no obvious reason for wanting him.

He was at Celtic under Strachan, never played a game. And O'Neill signed him. If it's not rubbish, and not a Svenscapade then could it be the board acting on one of their suggestions?
