Guest Col city fan Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Why? its quite simple Mick..he wants Sven back
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I clearly said "smart" manager. I suppose the smart ones carry on up the road to Forest to get no money and sacked after even less games.
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 its quite simple Mick..he wants Sven back Nope. No chance at that. Sven's gone and he won't come back. Ever.
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I suppose the smart ones carry on up the road to Forest to get no money and sacked after even less games. At one point, I thought you were talking about Billy Davies who also spent millions on new players, but was given three years and didn't perform too shabby.
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Nope. No chance at that. Sven's gone and he won't come back. Ever. Boo fcuking hoo. How will we survive? At one point, I thought you were talking about Billy Davies who also spent millions on new players, but was given three years and didn't perform too shabby. Did you? That's not very clever. Did he manage to spend £15million and hit 13th?
Bangkok Mick Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 its quite simple Mick..he wants Sven back oh is that right? ..... for f**ks sake. How does help the discussion then? Like it or not he`s gone
liamsm Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Scmeic Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky Vassell Abe Johnson Fernandes Nugent Beckford Oh and I wouldn't play any of those crappy Sven signings either   ? "wouldn't play any of those crappy Sven signings" herhum BECKFORD
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Boo fcuking hoo. How will we survive? Did you? That's not very clever. Did he manage to spend £15million and hit 13th? Well, we're doomed. Did Davies hit 13th after 13 games played in his first full season? Oh, wait. F*çSst had 22 points after 13 games in the 2009/2010 season. MASSIVE points difference to our start under Sven.
liamsm Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 The diamond is not our strength ......Wellens,King, Fernandes, Johnson and Abe are...they are all centre mids.....we need a way to utilise it, the diamond formation can work, it was Svens aproach that was wrong IMO, getting the players fired up and playing the way we know they all can could make us a very solid team. wow how entertaining NOT 5 midfielders what do you want 1 striker or less dfenders don't think so, wellens ( i like ) but not fast enoughreleasing the ball, Abe just not good enough all of this is IMO of course
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Well, we're doomed. Did Davies hit 13th after 13 games played in his first full season? No idea, I don't have the league records, had his team been gradually getting worse since February that year and decided to not move into the oppositions half in away games?
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 No idea, I don't have the league records, had his team been gradually getting worse since February that year and decided to not move into the oppositions half in away games? Are you doing a fair comparison or just making things up?
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Are you doing a fair comparison or just making things up? A fair comparison. For some reason you appear to believe Sven's record should only be compared to Billy Davies, why is this?
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 A fair comparison. For some reason you appear to believe Sven's record should only be compared to Billy Davies, why is this? And which two seasons are you comparing exactly? I can't follow you. And no, I'm not talking about Davies only, but specifically in this thread.
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 And which two seasons are you comparing exactly? I can't follow you. And no, I'm not talking about Davies only, but specifically in this thread. I don't understand why a comparison needs to be made with anyone or anything? Sven arrived, we were fantastic for 6 months (shattering the need time to gel myth btw), we then got to within 2 points of the play offs (I think) and hit a brick wall and ended the season the same amount of points off the play offs as when he arrived. He then added to what he had with a series of expensive signings and the team had managed to look even worse than last years, 3 defeats already at home to poor sides and no sign of a victory away from home despite playing away at most of the sides in the bottom half. If it wasnt someone with the charisma of Sven he would of been out a few games (eg McClaren). He wasnt sacked on league position, he was sacked because we had to witness another absolutely dire performance at home by the group of professionals he had assembled and sent out tor epresent Leicester City Football Club, I'm not sure how much clearer this can actually be. It might be for the best for him anyway considering the run of fixtures directly after his sacking, out the door in 13th might look kind to him.
seenitall Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 ? "wouldn't play any of those crappy Sven signings" herhum BECKFORD come on now - it was a joke!

Typical twaddle - one win can move anyone in this division up or down 6 or 7 places - yet another example of believing we are bigger than we actually are because we punched above our weight with a truly great manager for 4 years TEN YEARS AGO. Cue bringing on manager number 'lost count and can't be arsed to look it up' since then with no notable success and let's wait until the poor sap loses a game and call for his head - ho hum

Cue bringing on manager number 'lost count and can't be arsed to look it up' since then with no notable success and let's wait until the poor sap loses a game and call for his head - ho hum We have the biggest budget in the division, I dont think it believing we are bigger than we are to believe we should be challenging for the top 2 and actually in the top 6. As for the second point, well who is to blame for that? Thats what happens when you shove out managers who have been here two years and finished 1st and 5th on the trot, utter lunacy and pure selfishness in our boardroom from that big nosed Serbian tosspiece.

I was making comparisons between Eriksson's first full season in charge (which sadly ended after 13 league games) and Davies' in 2009/2010. And Davies gets the nod by a meagre 3 points. Still nice to see you sticking up for the players when they're equally at fault for this currently mediocre output. Of course, you'll then go the obvious route by blaming the manager again for that. Besides, only half of that "group of professionals" was "assembled" by Eriksson. The other half was already in place from the start and has played its own part in the current rollercoaster ride which is pointing downwards.

Davies side would of been in the play offs at the time of Sven's sacking despite having far less resources. 2. Manager took on half a team than finished 5th the season before (again, far less resources), added his own the next summer at a small fortune and left 13th. 3. Players Sven purchased should also be held to account. (I agree with this, but unfortunately, that DOES come down to the manager, imo he might of even contributed to this cba culture by handing out massive contracts to everyone who knocked on his door, lets fact it England managers are still dealing with the mess he left by allowing the WAGS to become part of everything to do with the squad)
MC Prussian Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 So in summary. 1. Davies side would of been in the play offs at the time of Sven's sacking despite having far less resources. 2. It's not what counts after 13 games, it's what counts at the end of the season. 2. I thought Eriksson was sacked - for what reason exactly? For being 2 points off the playoff places. Where's the logic and sense in that? The Thais took over and did a step-by-step approach. Placing their money on Sven (and in his hands) was a massive gamble last season. Besides, what players should we have bought 1/3 into a new season? They deemed the players we had back then good enough (the core of the Pearson squad) and allowed Sven to add to the puzzle by going for low-risk loan deals. Eriksson took us out of the relegation zone and gets us to tenth? Not a bad return in my books. The same manager then gets the sack after 13 games in the new season. The manager's fault? Really? More like the impatience of our new owners coupled with some bad attitude from players and impatient and fickle fans. THAT is a recipe for disaster! Unfortunately, it would take a massive effort for players and fans alike to admit that their negativity, need for instant gratification and unrivaled moaning capacity is also at the heart of this mess that is LCFC. 3. I'd say it's probably been the club looking out for players to fit the system than the other way around. Again, you exclude players from criticism (all they needed was knocking at the door and they'd get a contract - are you serious?) and go for the easy scapegoat.
Jakemoore Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 That has made me feel better - so glad you are not the manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This.
gazfox9 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 we need some width. and considering the damage howard is doing at the moment 4-4-2 schme peltier mills, bamba, knchest gallacher wellens king schlupp nugent howard fernandes on for schlupp at some point in the 2nd half Sorry but thats not a great starting 11. And how the hell can you decide who you're gonna sub BEFORE the game!?!?! Schlupp could be the best player on the pitch, shredding his man everytime he gets the ball!
monsieur grande Posted 1 November 2011 Author Posted 1 November 2011 Right then! all those who mocked my team , its only one player out from tonights selection! and arguably schlupp would be better than danns!.
monsieur grande Posted 1 November 2011 Author Posted 1 November 2011 Oh dear good job ur not manager then, when was last time gallagher played? lovely assist from gallacher tonight!!
