artursteppe Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 we need some width. and considering the damage howard is doing at the moment 4-4-2 schme peltier mills, bamba, knchest gallacher wellens king schlupp nugent howard fernandes on for schlupp at some point in the 2nd half That has made me feel better - so glad you are not the manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
m00nie Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 if howard is to be used then a sub wouold be best role for me... theres a difference btween getting some game time now and then and being fired up to actually being much use for most of the game.. schulpp on the wing? another player playing out of position just to get him in the team. havent we had enough of that,,,
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 If I was manager here's what I'd do: 1. Get em all together and try to analyse why they didn't feel happy with the formation. 2. Make it clear to them that the least I expected was 100% effort and commitment to the club.. Those that didn't show that would be dropped 3. Make it clear that everyone had a chance of making the first eleven and needed to demonstrate their worth in training 4. Take Neil Danns mobile phone and confiscate it until he scored 5 goals for the club 5. Sign a midfield horrible bloke and make him the skipper 6. Tell Wellens and Beckford that I was in charge and if they had an issue with that I didn't give a fook. 7. Sign a right winger, look for width and make the attackers attack and the defenders defend. 8. Tell peltier he's a smashing full back but I wanted him to concentrate primarily on defending 9. Employ ray Wilkins as my number two 10. Tell kasper to keep giving the defence a bollocking 11. Make the 'foxy chicks' the 'foxy more mature ladies' so I could watch them without feeling guilty 12. Tell mills to stop playing his long balls.. At least not as often. 13. Attack teams with pace, even away from home 14. Move the kop alongside the away fans.. So together with L1 they could at least frighten the opposition to death 15. Bring down the prices on the burgers and chips! Major rip off Can't fink of much else...
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 glad i could make someone feel better. im just looking at the options vassel is injured. and beckford is not hitting it off. waghorn is out on loan. schlupp and nugent up front is the other option. in terms of playign sclupp on the left, he has pace in abundance its basically thinking back to heskeys early days, when he was also very young, MON stuck him on the left wing, and he did some damage
davieG Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 It's been proved time and time and time again that a midfield duo of King and Wellens is not strong or capable enough, even less so with Gallagher as one of the 'wide' men.
Libertine Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Why not Dyer? Schlupp is rapid but he's wasted on the wing judging by most reports I've heard.
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 dyer is injured. but i also think hes a great weapon as sub
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 ok so we've got howard+dyer, as a fantastic substitute weapon. normal back four then fernades , king and wellens gallacher floating above nugent sclupp
Dr The Singh Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 ok so we've got howard+dyer, as a fantastic substitute weapon. normal back four then fernades , king and wellens gallacher floating above nugent sclupp Sven is that you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
General Smuts Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 ok so we've got howard+dyer, as a fantastic substitute weapon. normal back four then fernades , king and wellens gallacher floating above nugent sclupp Which completely contradicts your call for width.
Dr The Singh Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Which completely contradicts your call for width. Exactly, Svenhas returned!!!!
Lambert09 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Unless Dyer and Gallagher are fit or we sign more players please stop banging on about a 442.....we havent got the players capable. We do however have the players capable of a diamond...stick with it. Play to your strengths not to what you would like to be your strengths. Howard as an impact sub is useful....starting a game is a massive step backwards IMO
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 Which completely contradicts your call for width. but yes it does but im being influenced by the legendary backroom staff of davieG who says king and wellens are not strong enough on their own. i think it was a obviously good a call from stowell to put king as attacking midfielder. and gallacher can stray to either wing. isnt this the same problem that sven had with england, no wingers and lampard and gerald cant play together
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 we need some width. and considering the damage howard is doing at the moment 4-4-2 schme peltier mills, bamba, knchest gallacher wellens king schlupp nugent howard fernandes on for schlupp at some point in the 2nd half There is a reason your not a manager. Oh and Schlupp is a striker, not a winger
Libertine Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I just want to see Johnson paired with a more defensive minded midfielder, Yuki or Gelson, whether in a two or three or whatever. The guy is basically a Gerrard type midfielder, though quite slow, wanna see that badboy breaking forward and dictating the attacks. Let him loose!
Lcfcman2010 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Exactly, Svenhas returned!!!! brilliant, i was reading thread thinking the same! newbie?? hes been here before!!!!!
liamsm Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 we need some width. and considering the damage howard is doing at the moment 4-4-2 schme peltier mills, bamba, knchest gallacher wellens king schlupp nugent howard fernandes on for schlupp at some point in the 2nd half i'm glad you aint manager, that looks alot mor like 4-3-3 to me or are you doing a Sven and playing players out of position, i'm sure Schlupp is a forward or am i wrong?
DanTheFox07 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 we need some width. and considering the damage howard is doing at the moment 4-4-2 schme peltier mills, bamba, knchest gallacher wellens king schlupp nugent howard fernandes on for schlupp at some point in the 2nd half Oh dear good job ur not manager then, when was last time gallagher played?
DeclanMC Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 If I was manager, I'd play Danns more, in central midfield, where he would be a lot more effective than wellens.
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 Oh dear good job ur not manager then, when was last time gallagher played? the last time he played was right before his injury!!!!!!!
Fox92 Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 We need a right winger, I can't be doing with seeing Gallagher back.
artursteppe Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Arsenal have won 8 of their last 9 matches. Someone please name their wingers, on the basis that somehow people seem to think that if we have wingers our problems will be over.
monsieur grande Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 the last time he played was right before his injury!!!!!!! in the b-team!!! ha
