DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 None of those three are good enough. We DO want promotion don't we?
absolutelegend Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Well said exactly. would he warm the bench ahead of schlupp, beckford, and vassell? i think not. neither would waghorn. Would you take hobbs over sol, mills, or tunch? no. i know we're getting an old manager back, but that doesn't mean we have to go backwards with the playing staff.
RonnieTodger Posted 8 November 2011 Author Posted 8 November 2011 Never have I read so many posts about a manager and his previous players and the assumption that they'll follow him back here. Just because Pearson took Hobbs, Waghorn and Fryatt to Hull and once signed Chris Weale it doesn't mean he'll sign them once again or put Weale in over Schmeichel. Pearson didn't buy any Southampton players whilst he was at Leicester, so this is completely unfounded. He'll know he squad he's inheriting is a lot stronger than when he left and with a bit of fine tuning he'll be loving it. Never have I seen such a misguided judgement. Note in the post I said "Surely they wouldn't follow him again". Besides, this isn't completely about them coming back either. I said "what must they be thinking?", also. It must be strange for a player to follow a manager to a club and see him leave, months after, to a club they've signed from. In fact, has it ever happened before?
dannythefox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I'd take Fryatt back when he's on form he's as good as anyone in this league. I just hope Pearson can sort Beckford out because he wont stand for any shit if he doesn't sort it out he'll be out. Hobbs I'm not sure about since Mills has been here I don't think he's been any better than Hobbs was.
