RonnieTodger Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 As I'm sure you're all aware, Fryatt & Hobbs were sold to Hull, following Pearson up North. Surely they won't follow him again? As for Waghorn, he can follow him back at least, but do any of you want any of those 3 back? Personally, I'd take Hobbs and even Fryatt if no-one can match or better Nugent's goalscoring record this year. As for Waghorn, I can't see any future for him at Leicester.
Finnegan Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 No, we moved on. I'd take Tunchev, Mills and Bamba over Hobbs and Nugent, Beckford and Schlupp over Fryatt. Waghorn I'm unsure about, he isn't prolific and never will be but I do like his energy and his endeavour and I don't think he'd be a bad wing-forward in a 4-3-3 system.
somebum Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Yeah, Fryatt and Hobbs yes, Waghorn no. Depends... trust Pearson.
topharry123 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I have a lot of respect for Fryatt, but I think he left at the right time and not sure I would want him back. Hobbs I would love to see paired with Mills at the back, think they would excel under Perason! Waghorn is still a Leicester player so why not give him a chance again and see if he can hit the form he did for us a while back.

Not fussed about Hobbs or Fryatt. Hobbs is skipper at Hull and seems settled there. I wouldn't swap him for Mills, Tunchev or even Bamba. Fryatt was never more than an average Championship player and hasn't exactly been prolific at the KC. Waghorn did well under Pearson previously and with Vassell now out for the season, Schlupp maybe away during Jan/Feb and Sven now gone, could still have a role to play. A 4-3-3 formation, with Nugent, Waghorn and Beckford in attack, has the potential to take this league by storm.
Ric Flair Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Never have I read so many posts about a manager and his previous players and the assumption that they'll follow him back here. Just because Pearson took Hobbs, Waghorn and Fryatt to Hull and once signed Chris Weale it doesn't mean he'll sign them once again or put Weale in over Schmeichel. Pearson didn't buy any Southampton players whilst he was at Leicester, so this is completely unfounded. He'll know he squad he's inheriting is a lot stronger than when he left and with a bit of fine tuning he'll be loving it.
cc_star Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Hobbs is better than SSL (& a covering Ball) & would push the current 1st choice pairing much harder, I'd take him in a heartbeat Not sure there's a space for Fryatt... Nuge is better & Schlupp & Beckford are better prospects, although Fryatt's 1 in 3 hit rate in a low-scoring team is significantly better than any of players other than Schlupp Waghorn is our player, of course he's coming back unless we sell him. With Vassell out for the season & Schlupp potentially away in Jan & Feb, Pearson may want a look but as with Fryatt... Nuge Sclupp & Beckford are probably better options although Pearson may want someone who tackles back more
FallenAngel Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Exactly, besides i would doubt Hull selling them back to us

Waghorn is still our player and it's reasonable to assume that Pearson had a significant move in his loan to Hull. Recent events could mean he'll be back with us before the end of the year.

Yes, whoever the new manager was going to be Waghorn would always potentially come back here but as for Hobbs or Fryatt I have no reasons to believe Pearson would want them back.
Fox92 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I'd have Hobbs back. He had confidence under Nigel Pearson and looked quality and both League 1 and Championship levels. Not sure about Fryatt. Don't really rate Waghorn, but we have been missing width.
Corky Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Waghorn seemed to enjoy his time here under Pearson, and with Vassell out he's gone up the pecking order. Hobbs and Fryatt can stay at Hull.
AyewJoking Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Hobbs beacause we need more defenders. Fryatt isnt better than what we already have. Waghorn isnt as good as Fryatt.
Rich Fox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 People ate crazy to want hobbs back. He is no better than st ledger and would be mortified if Nigel played him instead of bamba.
ajthefox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Waghorn is still our player so I don't really see that it'll make a huge difference there. He'll be back under NP at a club that it would seem he felt some attatchment to. I'd be amazed if we went anywhere near Fryatt or Hobbs, the situation regarding Pearson's departure is quite different. Besides, I really don't think that the Hull board would sell them back to us at a price where we wouldn't be paying to get them at a significant loss, so it's pointless even bothering.
Father Ted Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I would trust Pearson's judgement on those players.
lestajigs Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I have a lot of respect for Fryatt, but I think he left at the right time and not sure I would want him back. I don't rate Hobbs better than bamber, but then again bamber is premiership bound, I think
Saxondale Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I'd have both Fryatt and Hobbs back, particularly Matty. But this is all irrelevant. Who says Pearson would or COULD bring them back EVEN if he wanted to? Hull wouldn't necessarily sell them. And Nigel might decide that the crop he has here at Leicester now are better. In Nigel We Trust.
JadeFalcon Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 pfft they can keep fryatt, come on, honestly why would you want somebody here that regularly blasts over from 3 yards out and his only skill at shooting with a football is to run till 4 yards from the keeper and then BLAST it at him in the hope it goes past him, only to be kicked into the keeper 99 times out of 100 ? the man has no skill, the ammount of times i've seen him be greedy or stupid with a football infront of goal, he will either be greedy and not pass to a scoring option, or choose not to lift the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net, taking the same old option of blasting it in hope yet again come on why would you want that back here ? ffs he's gone and thank goodness for that, an ego that we dont need but sadly seem to have replaced one ego with another one (mentioning no names here)

Jace Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 I don’t think Pearson will have any plans to bring any of them back we don’t need them. I think Pearson will look to strengthen the midfield especially the wings that’s where we are weak at the moment. Not sure why their are threads on here discussing about Bambas future and Weales name being talked about being first choice Nigel Pearson is a professional football manager Im sure he knows a decent footballer when he sees one, if he felt our squad was much weaker than Hulls he would not be returning
Maybes Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 When will people realise that Matty Fryatt is shit?
absolutelegend Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 The way Leicester fans talk about Fryatt Waghorn and Hobbs you would think they were all like Messi. You clearly didn't watch the games i did where they were nothing more than average at best (except in league 1). We have better players in all of those positons now by far. I'm gobsmacked by city fans sometimes.
