Joshi Posted 24 November 2011 Posted 24 November 2011 Hi guys, Just stumbled across something that I can't see posted here before. I know lots of you may be aware that we managed to snare Pier Larrauri, the young Peruvian youth international to come and play at Leicester, but I also found out from him that there are a couple of young Mexican players that are currently playing in the youth setup. They are Brayan Estrada and Roger Solano (no relation to Nobby). Both are young, 15ish I reckon, I assume that the idea is to bring the kids over young so that they can gain EU National status or established in the country so a work permit will be easier to get. I think one of them has also been training in the US. Of course it might not amount to anything, but it's exciting that the club are expanding their scouting network to pick up players like this. There's a link to a Spanish forum here - http://embajadoresaztecas.org/foro/index.php?PHPSESSID=cj156m1f9u6doeb68ackjfc144&topic=1250.0 - the posts basically confirm that the players left their respective clubs in Mexico for LCFC, scroll mid way down for a pic of them in their LCFC training trackies. Josh
bluearmyfox23 Posted 24 November 2011 Posted 24 November 2011 Brian estrada looks like a lethal player looking at his first picture
Joshi Posted 24 November 2011 Author Posted 24 November 2011 Here's a video of the boy Solano - - He's showing off his tekkers at what looks like Nelson Mandella Park, before going on to describe Alan Rogers as his hero
ACF Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 Roger's father confirms that Solano Record note mentions that there is no contract yet for these guys, but it is an invitation for one year from the Leicester. If at the end of that year prevalce interest, so if you have contract. It would have been nice if someone here had the full story for the rise.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 Good post. It is good to see. That was probably one of the longer term benefits Sven offered. Shame the short term stuff didn't work out. Good post. It is good to see. That was probably one of the longer term benefits Sven offered. Shame the short term stuff didn't work out. Good post. Iwan is a Welshman Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 So good I apparently felt the need to say it three times.
Captain... Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 Here's a video of the boy Solano - - He's showing off his tekkers at what looks like Nelson Mandella Park, before going on to describe Alan Rogers as his hero He didn't say Alan rogers was his hero, who would, he didn't really say much other than the usual stuff dedication, always had a football at his feet when he was young, it's a great opportunity to improve yadda yadda. Could be good but the success rate from the Leicester academy in recent years has been fairly poor.
Father Ted Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 I hear we have signed a 14 year old Lithuanian under 17 international on a 4 year contract, house and everything paid for...

Joshi Posted 28 November 2011 Author Posted 28 November 2011 I was of course joking about Nelson Mandella park and Alan Rogers.... It looks more like Viccy Park and I think he was referring to Trevor Benjamin as hero, not Rogers....
