Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Under Pearson and in the 4-4-2 ; Back on the scoresheet Box to Box but acctually involved in the play, putting himself about / putting his body on the line. Linking well with Wellens. Looking dangerous driving forward. Welcome back
Burmesefox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 I've been a big critic of kingy and still beieve that since last jan the lad has gone MIA. Clearly a decent player and he was was very good today. I said that we got rid of sven too quickly and we were lucky to get nige back but pearson is in my top 3 Leicester managers since I started going in 80/81 season (Oneill, wallace, pearson). pearson has got his band of brothers and that's what he''s all about.

Ive criticised King alot for not doing anything and pretty much being invisible all game, but since Pearson has returned hes been a completely different player. Box to Box, chasing every loose ball, getting stuck in making vital challanges & of course going forward he's back on the scoresheet making them runs in behind again, looking sharp. The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 just knew he'd score first tonight
cc_star Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 People don't see half the work Kingy does, a lot of it is on the edge of our own box, it could be his positioning sense, ball or flick, which starts a move involving other players only for him to ghost in late in the box to finish it Now we've got a manager who knows how to get the best out of the players & plays them in their best positions, King & others will flourish. There seems to be an enthusiasm running though the squad, but rather than the mis-guided pre-season "we'll walk 2nd" enthusiasm it's one of hardwork, teamwork & people enjoying their jobs, just hope we can keep at it, yet another very difficult game next, Hull away. Very tough indeed, would be a good point.

For the first time he seemed to have a sense of purpose. But he's not the only one. King's been mentioned but Konchesky is a revelation and Dyer looks full of enthusiasm. There's a renewed "Foxes Never Quit" air about and that was never apparent under Sven. Half the time we were tactically clueless and spiritually lost. [

Alf Bentley Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 King is the most prominent, but by no means the only beneficiary of the style change under Pearson. I'd see his main asset as his reading of the game - crucially complemented by having the athleticism to act on it. He has other assets: calm temperament, good finishing, decent in the air, good long shot. He also has weaknesses, notably tackling/physicality (spotted him getting stuck in tonight, though!). His passing is an interesting one. Following on from his excellent reading of the game, he is good at selecting the right pass and playing the simple ball accurately. On the other hand, he is not one for the tricky rapier pass in tight situations - lacking the outstanding technical ball skills or instantaneous reactions in limited space. Unlike Sven, Pearson's style suits King's strengths. Sven's system was very tight and rigid, and based on quick close passing and the slow development of team moves (not a contradiction, honest!). Sven also played King (and Danns when he played) in a very rigid attacking midfield position. Pearson is playing with more width and a more direct style, creating more space - more space for King (and Danns - impressed with his cameo tonight) to read the game, knowing when to make forward runs from deep, when to slot in front of the defence etc. I'm still not convinced that the midfield balance is ideal, but it's looking a lot better than it was. Bodes well!
terry Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 i don't often talk on here, but its obvious to me that king acts best when people in charge have confidence in him when sven was here he almost instantly took away his confidence, saying that he wanted him to be a more rounded midfielder and even dropped him in his first couple of games at no point did king look himself under sven, people say he goes missing but when a 10 goal a season midfielder gets told to act more defensively and become a more rounded what do you expect it was obvious tonight for the first time since pearson left that he was comfortable in what he was doing, pearson obviously gets the best out of king, and so may it continue
