Kitchandro Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Attendances are not our concern, the club know they could lower prices permanently and get more in but they don't. If we were flying high in the league attendances would be up as well, frankly if people only want to come if we're winning or if prices are slashed then I'm not sure I want them around stifling what is an already poor atmosphere, which is always worse for some reason when more people turn up But that's completely untrue, Man City and Forest games in the last 2 or 3 years have had high attendances and have had great atmospheres. Leeds in league 1 likewise. More fans doesn't stifle the atmosphere, that doesn't make any sense. L, K and J are the only sections that really ever do any singing and are mosty full of the same kind of people no matter who we're playing. Bad atmosphere's generally occur when we're on a bad run or there's nothing on th pitch to get excited about. When the ground is full it's usually a better atmosphere. Speak for yourself about attendances not being your concern, they are a big concern for me as I want to see our ground full and I take pride in Leicester's attendances. They are still pretty good but disappointing for us this season IMO, ticket prices are an absolute joke. I wish they woud lower ticket prices for all but I'd rather see our ground reasonably full than half-empty even if it is because of things like this. Maybe it's just my mentality because I have already paid for my season ticket so the money's already gone but I can't say this overly bothers me.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Only on Boxing Day is the atmosphere traditionally stifled by a large crowd in general, I think! The atmosphere always takes a time to build on that day usually because of the post Christmas format of the day in general but a win often helps stoke up the atmosphere....a la beating Sheffield United at home two seasons ago on BD.... With Michael Morrisons awesome 40 yard shot that so nearly went in
ta-fc Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 they're also doing 5 adult tickets in the Kop or G block for £75 - £15 per ticket's pretty impressive!
leicesterseddon Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 People moan about the attendances and a poor atmosphere, but when the club try to change this they get slated. This game is on TV and without this offer we'd have a sub 20k attendance. Rather embarrassing when its on TV and when we laugh at Cov for their poor attendances. I'm sorry but this is complete and utter bollocks. The reason why attendances are down this season - across the division - is because lots of people don't have the money they used to, while tickets have remained at the same price, which most people admit is too high. If the club want to reduce general ticket prices to increase the attendances, I've got no problem with that. But these offers (usually at least three or four a season) are just taking the piss out of all those who shelled out good money months before the season started to get their seats at (what they thought) was a discounted rate.

I can see your point to some degree I had a season ticket for 9 straight seasons and it used to p!ss me off when the club would heavily discount tickets... Now my daughter has come along I'm able to pick and chose my games according to disposable income... games like Pompy are a welcome bonus... Thing is both season and match tickets are too expensive if the club reduced the costs for both they would undoubtedly see an increase in the volume of people through the doors with no degradation of overall income... Actually thinking about it revenue would probably increase with people buying stuff inside the ground... Think they should worry less about what they believe is a marketable value for the 'product' they're offering up and more about bums on seats.
