Glenfield Fox Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Bought my tickets this morning for Peterborough. Whilst there found out about a family offer for Portsmouth. 4 tickets - 2 x Adult plus 2 X U18 all for £20. Snapped mine up straight away. According to lady who served me, it only went live on their screens today. I think it's only available in the Marks Stand.

theadmans Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Anyone prepared to give me their Season Ticket holder reference as I have promised the family I would take them to this game? Would be much appreciated as money will be tight after Xmas
Guy Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 I can only get up to see City about 6-7 times a season so make the most of when I can. So while I had to pay through the nose for my Ipswich ticket for Boxing Day, the now bog standard £32, at least the blow was softened by the Pompey game offer that the telephone ticket office clerk sold me a ticket for......for £10!

Jimmy Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Season ticket holders screwed once more its amazing how badly STH's get treated
Bert Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 its amazing how badly STH's get treated Yup. Don't get me wrong it's great for people who can't afford a ST or to go regularly. I just get the feeling that once the ST'a are purchased the club don't give a feck.

Libertine Dream Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 People moan about the attendances and a poor atmosphere, but when the club try to change this they get slated. This game is on TV and without this offer we'd have a sub 20k attendance. Rather embarrassing when its on TV and when we laugh at Cov for their poor attendances.

Can safely say I've never moaned about any of that. Even without this offer we'd still get 21-22k for this game.

If you don't have one you are getting taken to the cleaners most weeks, I'm more upset about that and the attendances as a result.
Jimmy Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Attendances are not our concern, the club know they could lower prices permanently and get more in but they don't. If we were flying high in the league attendances would be up as well, frankly if people only want to come if we're winning or if prices are slashed then I'm not sure I want them around stifling what is an already poor atmosphere, which is always worse for some reason when more people turn up

The atmosphere always takes a time to build on that day usually because of the post Christmas format of the day in general but a win often helps stoke up the atmosphere....a la beating Sheffield United at home two seasons ago on BD....
Guy Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 £10... for an adult ticket?! Yes, it's true, an adult ticket for a tenner! I've had a few similar offers for so called "lesser" games this season but as I live in Devon I'm not able to take advantage and it would be pointless me being anything more than an occasional attendee now. I was a member last season but as they've since effectively destroyed the whole idea of being a member this season (by knocking on the head the getting discount off match day tickets if you're a member), then it was pointless me renewing my membership from last season! Perhaps I made them feel sub consciously guilty for charging me £32 for the Ipswich game on B.Day this time round (when I paid £28 for the Leeds Boxing Day game at home last season), so when the clerk offered me a Pompey ticket for £10 thereafter then only an idiot would say no if they were available to go to the game!
