C-man Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Should be a great game I think Brazil will win, as long as they play their normal attacking football with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Adriano etc.... Anyone else watching?
C-man Posted 29 June 2005 Author Posted 29 June 2005 Now, Channel 5 Brazil 1-0 Argentina What a goal by Adriano!! We might be seeing that on the 25th July
Fox Shagger Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Oh shit am going to watch it. Thanks for the info
Libertine Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 4-1 to Brazil Great game, great goals. They combined about 20 passes then planted it onto Adriano's head for the 4th. Good goal by the Argie Bargies too.
shen Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Has it finished? 129681 Yup...thoroughly entertaining games...generally an entertaining tournament! Certainly plenty of goals!
lush Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Did ya`all notice the NEW offside law? The ball was played forward, the argies played the offside trap 5 yards inside their own half, a brazil player was """in a offside position""" but hadnt touched the ball (which means he isnt penalised for offside yet). so he runs forward chasing the ball, and once he touched it, the linesman flagged him offside, CRAZY rule, just flag the facker upon the initial incident... To think we pay someone to think up these things...
Alexikokopops Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Liked Aimar's goal, but then again Aimar is fantastic!!

Fox Shagger Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 That Cicinho played well with 2 assists. Seems Real Betis are after him but we do have the next best thing in Alan Maybury.
lush Posted 29 June 2005 Posted 29 June 2005 Stops the argument about whether they're intefering at least. 129743 Its stupid. the idea of football is to score goals. when the ball is infront of a striker with only the goalie to beat, which striker on earth isnt going to chase that `goal`? Either flag the facker offside instantly, or not atall.

Either flag the facker offside instantly, or not atall. 129802 I agree it's stupid in incidents like when Adriano chased the ball for a while and was free but clearly offside, but I'm interested to see what'll happen when it's not so clearcut as that.
Alexikokopops Posted 30 June 2005 Posted 30 June 2005 What do you mean alex? 129862 Well sometimes you get incidents in crowded penalty ares for example where it's not clear if someone's intefering or not. This new rule could possibly avoid confusion there. Hell, I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore, it's too early
lush Posted 30 June 2005 Posted 30 June 2005 It seems only the initial "not interfering players" exists but once that player touches the ball FIRST, he or she is offside. Now, a linesman/woman has to spot all those that are in a non interfering position and then work out whether any player is eventually offside or not, when the ball is eventually touched by a player. As if the linos didnt have it tuff enough, they introduce a rule that requires super strength eye sight. Still, we`ll ""know"" why they`ll be given more of our turnstile money for wages...
rossporterlc Posted 30 June 2005 Posted 30 June 2005 quality game but John barnes has got to be the worst presenter ever!
shen Posted 1 July 2005 Posted 1 July 2005 Anyone know who Cicinho plays for? 130638 Sao Paulo I think...
