Pretty good performance tonight. Beckham played very well, if he performs like that in the qualifiers we'll have no problem :D

Shaun Wright Phillips came on, amazing player and a brilliant debut goal! :thumbup:

It was nice to see England actually up for a friendly match for a change.

I liked the limitation of 6 subs as well, it improved the match

i like the idea of wright-phillips in the side , weather it be on the right with beckham inside him or see if he can do a job on the left

Yeah, I would like to see Wright Phillips on the left - Actually have some pace and width on the left flank for once.......

I would like Wright Phillips on the left and Pennant on the right and Gerrard and Beckham in the middle that would be quality.

and i think you're forgetting nicky butt

Sorry but you cant take Beckham out, scored 1 made 1, looks like he's sorting himself out. Gerrard > Lampard, really really close decision though.

Gerrard is much more talented than Lampard - I would have Beckham as a holding player where his passing would be better utilised, Lampard in the Scholes attacking midfield role, with Gerrard wide right.

:huh::unsure: :wacko: :blink:

you're clearly mad, Gerrard is amazing, one of the best midfielders I've ever seen.

Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard have to be in there IMO. I would probably have those 3 and Wright=Phillips on the left.

I'd probably agree with that, with wright-phillips on the left?

heh, i prefer lampards style of play, he seems to score more goals than gerard perhaps? he certianly played better than gerrard in euro 2004

Love Wright Phillips to play but he wont :( We'll just have to look forward to Wayne Bridge on the left wing  <_<

he's tried that once, didn't work, doubt it'll happen again...

freund - Lampard probably did have a better euro 2004, but oveerall I'd say Gerrard offers us a lot more even though he may not score as much. Anyway, I would definately play both.

I thought Gerrard looked good on the left wing last night, maybe he should play there with becks and lampard in middle and wright phillips on the right!

I didn't get to watch the game yesterday, but I watched the highlights and I have to agree with you - Gerrard looked very impressive on the left. I think the likes of Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard tend to rotate positions in midfield so they all get a go in the centre.
