Richie " what ever title you wish to put in" Wellens off to Leeds?

Wellens has been really disappointing in virtually every game he has played in for several months now, but against Forest & Suthampton he was terrific & if he continues to produce that sort of quality, then he will be automatic selection every game.

King has been the biggest disappointment imo. Lots of games I wouldn't have known he was on the field as he hardly touches the ball. He used to be good for 10 - 12 goals a season, but it's a rarity now if he manages to score a goal.

I would be happy to keep Wellens until the end of this season.

I am going to stick my neck on the line here and say Wellens must stay. We've shipped out Fernandes and Abe and King is injured plus Oakley probably will never play a meaningful part again and Moussa is not good enough.

Wellens showed against Southampton and Forest what a valuable player he is winning ball after ball and getting stuck in for the team. Even set goals up which we all know is not his strongest attribute (King was supposed to do that!!!....look how thats panning out)

Players who i feel have been worse than him whenever i've watched City this season are......King, Gallagher, Mills and Danns (bar recently) but noone is talking about them leaving.

this forum loves scapegoats...comical!!?!?

Jeez guys, have you really been conned........

In deep positions Wellens postures, points and shouts to almost zero effect, he rarely makes an effective tackle and leaves our back 4 hopelessly exposed. This has been apparent all season but some simply don't see it. How many times have people complained, on this forum, that our back 4 gets no cover from midfield, and who should be providing that cover?

I'll give you one guess.....

The reason Wellens has been better in the last two games is because he has been playing farther forward, instead of hopeless 'hollywood' balls from deep he has played shorter passes into feet and we have been far better as a result.

If you have a recording, take a look at his play against Southampton, first half he was mediocre, dropping too deep too often, failing to make effective tackles and giving away possession, second half he was pushed into forward positions and his, and our play was better as a result.

As for Andy King, this has been a nightmare season, played as an attacking mid by Sven; he clearly did not have a clue, not the first idea of how to play a creative role and was consistently poor. I feel this sapped his confidence, which was just beginning to return when NFP restored him to his natural deeper position, but he then got injured and could be out for a while.

Spot on with everything you have said. Andy King is better at arriving into the box late on and from the deep positions. King likes to play the simple pass and was never going to be a creative midfielder. Drinkwater will be the one to supply the balls for beckford now and looks to have plenty of energy to go with it
