Guest Col city fan Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 There seems to be a marked absence of posts tonight by the Wellens detractors.... I thought he was excellent tonight, especially second half. And Lloyd Dyer put in a very nice performance too. Let's support all of them for a bit eh? We'll see....

Well i`m a Wellens detractor, and i was happy to say that i thought he played well tonight. To be fair, i think most people on here say it as they see it, and he has been poor this season, but tonight he deserves praise, so fair play to him.

I've said the same thing about Beckford, whose work rate tonight was excellent
marbelladave Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 You don't have to be able to read and rite to enjoy football or luv LEICESTER. Get message across. That's what this is about ok or shall we discuss it in Vicky Park At some point in your life you may need to express views a little more complex than (I) luv Leicester. Then again, it is entirely possible that you never have anything worthwhile to say so perhaps being literate really does not matter....... was 1 of our best players AGAIN just goes to show what some of our fans know..... wellens again tonight a good battling performance we keep saying wellens is the problem maybe the problem was his other midfield pairings as again with danns looked full of fight First half I thought Wellens was ok, just. Mostly he played further forward and fully played his part in closing down the opposition but when he dropped deep he was his usual slow and wasteful self, fortunately neither his nor Danns' defensive errors were peoperly exploited by a lacklustre Southampton. However, when they did their work in forward areas, pressing the opposition to deny them time to build proper attacks, they were both very good indeed......
Will1981 Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 I think Wellens is a good mid table championship player but his problem is he thinks he is a top 10 premier league player and if he relised his own level and strengths and weaknesses he could just play as a high pressure ball winning midfielder (Scotty Parker type) and when he gets the ball just pass to the closest player. He played quite well today but he cant pass for toffee.
Walker Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Wellens out! Useless again. He's lost it. 'He only looked good 'cos everyone else played well.....'

Who do you think you are?

Cropwellfox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Just like smudger I am happy to eat some words about wellens - last nights performance was very good - different player. I hope he keeps this level up as he can obviously still do it. Fair play to him.
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Aah, great, the bloody grammar discussion. C'mon, you don't need to be writing in top notch grammar, but how hard is it to type proper words (love instead of luv) and to use the correct version of words, such as you/your/you're. Now then, good last night, but still poor overall this season and, as Jimmy has said, if he's complaining about not playing regularly enough then fvck him.
wellyfox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 So talk of a move and Wellens up's his game? Or has he just hit some form be nice if he has he just need's to get fit now then. Or is it Andy Kings fault he's been poor all season? Not sure why king would have anything to do with it. the last two seasons they have been our midfield pairing and been fine for most of it. Or is it just Wellens attitude? But hey credit where it is due good game last nite and against forest. Let's just hope the old man has turned a corner.

At some point in your life you may be required to express ideas that are a little bit more complex than 'Wellens was great' or Wellens was crap'. Sadly many people on this board and in the country in general are unable to do this, it leads to miss communication, anger and frustration and is the basic quality of chav culture, but then it is your culture so please yourself.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Can we open a spelling and sentence structure thread! Knowledge is half the battle

Is miss communication a contender for miss world or is she a cousin of the lesser known miscommunication???? Sorry couldn't resist! Though I do agree with you most of the time.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 I am a 55 year old chav LMHO Its views like yours that label poeple, not good at English tut tit, must be thick, try harder it is easy I can do it. Now as for auto correction on mobile phones..... That is another story. :-) And back to the main plot with gally coming off last night can we wellens go, the midfield is so limited now

Ric Flair Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 His 2nd half performance last night was as good as he's ever played for us, I was absolutely fuming at his first half performance but fair play to him for getting stuck in and driving us to victory. It seemed that whack in the face did him the world of good.

Hold on, why was I quoted for that response? I agree people need to be able to express more complex ideas, I've just grown sick of all the nit-picking (even if I may have been responsible for it at times). The debate over posters grammar has been done to death on here, and as always my response is - you don't need to be incredibly verbose, succinct posts are preferable (for me at least), but a basic grasp of the English language is to be expected.

Though I do agree with you most of the time. No problem, my piss poor spelling is just one of the many reasons I could never have been an English teacher, not having a corduroy jacket is of course another........ In another life, back in the late seventies, I was regularly subcontracted to provide and operate sound reinforcement equipment (PA) for the musical acts that provided the musical 'interludes' during the Miss World events at the Albert Hall. The best bit was getting to fit the radio microphones to the girls who made the finals, I can genuinely say that I have got into the knickers (and bikini bottoms) of several Miss Worlds.......

However you do rather make my point, what on earth does your last line (it is not even a sentence) mean?

marbelladave Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 However, you do rather make my point, Correct...... To be serious for a moment, we all make the odd typo, punctuation error and the like, that is normal. However, I do have a problem when posts are so badly written that it is either impossible or really hard to work out what the poster is trying to say. I know this is only a football forum but if you have anything to say that is of real value, at least make the effort to write it clearly enough for people to understand. Do this and you might even make people think about and maybe even change their views.......
