marbelladave Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Think you've got your Morgans and Delfounesos in a bit of a muddle. Whoops...... I had been reading posts asking why Delfouneso was not involved last night so when I saw the 'Cup Tied' post I sort of thought it referred to whether he would be involved against Norwich. My mistake, the post is quite clearly referring to Morgan....... Talking of Morgan, if I recall correctly he did not play in either of the games against us so should be available........ Unless of course I have that wrong too, not having the best of mornings.......
Darkon84 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I also only listened on the radio, but taking away conceding 2 golas from set-pieces and one that shouldn't have been allowed for a foul, apart from the goals, we were better than Watford, we scored 2 away from home created a load more, should have had a penalty, it just seems like it was one of those games, it is frustrating but it sounded like we didn't play that badly and could easily have won, but we didn't that's life, this is not the first time we have lost when we should have won, and we also have won when we should have lost. I do find this sudden doom and gloom to be thoroughly predictable and quite depressing. Having said that we are not good enough to go up this season, so what we weren't last season, or the one before, at least NP is tryng to build something rather than quick fix us up, to just get battered every week. Yes, yes and yes. As annoying as it is, these type of games occur regularly, not just for us, but all over the football world. Sometimes, things just dont go your way. I do have to say though, conceding two from set pieces is a shocker, we shold not be allowing that, and Pearson is rightly irate about that. Though, as you said, we seemed to create more chances, should have had a penalty, and their other goal should not have stood. Alas, that is life, and its something EVERYONE should be more than prepared for. Being Leicester fans, we should know we don't make things easy for ourselves. Being a Leicester fan is like he film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Just when you think something good is around the corner, you get screwed over again. We know it'll happen again. Sometimes all you can do is just laugh.
Leicester Lass Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I know I wasn't at the game last night, and had to listen on the radio, which therefore makes me plastic, less of a fan and obviously the sole reason for all that is bad in the world, and probably means I shoud not be allowed an opinion either, but... I'm not totally understanding the low scores for SSL and Beckford. From what I gathered, Beckford got an assist, could have got one himself, and seemed like he got himself involved a bit more with some flick ons etc than he was doing a month ago. As for SSL, yes, it appeared we were getting bullied at the back by Iwelumo, but it certainly sounded like he had a much better game when he moved to right back, by making the forward runs, AND also being rather sound, defensively. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though I'm sure, one or two people will take great pleasure in that I gave Beckford a 5, although looking back it may have been slightly harsh if the two assists are taken into account. In the first half some of his link up play with Nugent was exceptional, the two goals were a testiment to that. I just felt overall last night was a bit of a step backwards for him after the last few very good performances he's put in. The one word I would use to describe him yesterday was clumsy, first touch was appalling more often that not, and he seemed to want to go down at the slightest bit of contact where he may have been better staying on his feet. It was clear that he was desperate to score, so his decision making was more than a little suspect too. Missed a glorious headed chance as well that he really should've done better with. Don't get me wrong, I really do rate Beckford, but apart from the two assists he didn't have his best night in my opinion. His workrate was still there though, which can only be a positive.

GO BACK AND CHANGE YOUR RATING OF HIM NOW! Only joking, good reply Fair enough then, I hear you about his first touch, I think everyone has noticed that it can let him down at times, but its good to see he's got a degree of hunger back in his eyes, which was lacking for so long. The header sounded absolutely nailed on and was something a striker should be burying, so am pretty disappointed with that. I'm glad he's at least getting himself in to those sort of positions now and getting those though. Next step is to bloomin' take them. Come on you Foxes!
Corky Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Schmeichel- 7 (Little chance with the goals, kicking was good) Peltier- 4 (Struggled all night) St Ledger- 6 (Coped well at CB and RB) Mills- 5 (The bad Mills, bullied by Iwelumo and passing was poor) Konchesky- 6 (Got forward well) Gallagher- 6 (Didn't shirk anything but didn't create too much either) Wellens- 6 (Good first, poor second) Drinkwater- 5 (Not as he was v Cardiff before going off) Dyer- 6 (Tried to get in the game) Beckford- 6 (Two excellent touches for the goals, worked hard) Nugent- 8 (Two fabulous goals) Morgan- 6 (Strong) Danns- 4 (Not good enough) Howard- N/A
martinrowland Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Not sure why you've put 10 for fans, we had good numbers yesterday but we were dead quiet except for a few 'we love you' chants after the 2nd goal.

Beckford like Gallagher is particularly frustrating and unenjoyable to watch. I don't "rate" him for the reasons you have set out - why should we "rate" average players - this damning with faint praise has gone on for far too long. I'm fed up with it.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 That is a pretty old-fashioned view, which I'm going to rebut with an equally old cliché that "defending starts from the front". As Gallagher scored twice against Cardiff, that doesn't make our strikers that day flunk, does it? Isn't Bamba available again? He could theoretically play him and St Ledger against Norwich. Isn't Sol back now - and supposed to be available for Saturday ? If Pearson really is pissed off with Mills, I would have thought that's a pretty simple swap. Also, Pantsil for Peltier (though that's less likely given Pearson's reluctance to drop his favourite players - and Pelt's must be one, having just got a new contract !) ? Sol is back but if Peltier gets dropped and St. Ledger going on the right with Morgan and Mills in the centre, Bamba can't just walk straight back in the team Morgan aint cup tied Well that's good then!
