Wherethefoxhat? Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I think the last two set of ratings are just about spot on ......and probably show exactly why we didn't win that game tonight !!!
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Kasper 6 Pelts 4 Was poor tonightKonch 5Mills 4 - Im sorry but he needs to be dropped captain or no captain he has been shocking and needs to learn!SSL 6Gally 5 - He is a winger but today you rarely seen him on the wing due to him wanting to have long shots, poor set pieces. Why didn't Konchesky have the first free kick i do not know!Dyer 5DD 7 - We was awful in the 2nd half without himWellens 6Becks 7 - Was unlucky not to get a goal but 2 good assists from him, especially the 2nd oneNuge 7 - two good goalsDanns 5 Morgan 6 did a decent job despite having mills next to him, was unlucky not to score After watching that game Mills needs to be dropped and so does gallagher, Marshall and Morgan in for me. The ref and linesmen didn't help (don't know if we should of had that penalty at the end though) but we can't use that excuse this time, we was poor when Drinkwater went off, hope he gets fit Also why can I see Beckford getting a 5? Guessing you didn't see his 2 assists ay.
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Danns - 3!! He's useless sorry but he only ever passes the ball sideways, loses the ball or just falls over. He's been better since he was put in the centre but all he has is energy:/ not a leicester City player. Give Marshall a go Saturday among with Pantsil & Big Sol
kingfox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Mills 4 - Im sorry but he needs to be dropped captain or no captain he has been shocking and needs to learn! I didn't go, but I will praise your post anyway.
acooling08 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Why has Peltier dipped in form so badly in the second half of the season? I must say that I am in love with David Nugent.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 After listening to Pearson's interview I reckon he is pissed off with Mills but with Morgan cup tied looks like he will have to play him. I think he shouldn't be played, does he have to get injured to be dropped? I have stuck up for him in the past but he just has had too many bad performances.
Dan Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Schmeichel - 6. Let in 3 but he really couldn't do anything about any of them. Peltier - 4. Shit. He's been iffy for a while and I wouldn't be surprised to see SSL play right back with him on the bench for a while to be honest. Didn't rate him tonight. Mills - 4. Not good enough, no idea what the hell he was doing for their 3rd. SSL - 6. He wasn't bad to be fair. Konchesky - 6. Not a bad display. Gallagher - 5. As we all knew he'd be following his match-winning display, he was very average. Wellens - 4. Completely nowhere to be seen, I've been a fan of his but his days in our starting XI are becoming more and more limited IMO. Drinkwater - 6. He wasn't too bad, didn't do a great deal right or wrong. Only lasted half the game too. Dyer - 4. Completely anonymous. Nugent - 8. Two fantastic goals so fair play, but similar to Gallagher the other day, he didn't actually do a great deal other than that, but fair play, he's one of the highest scorers in the league now and I stand by he's the best forward we've had since being out the top flight. Beckford - 6. Blew chances but at least he got them, it's only a matter of time before he really starts banging them in I feel. Subs; Morgan - 6. Average, didn't look bad but I have no idea what happened for their third, it looked like he was fouled. Danns - 5. Didn't offer enough. Howard - N/A Steve, you're a legend, but the Championship is simply too high now. Out of his depth at this level I'm afraid.

The difference is, Nugent is a striker and he is rated on goals, whereas Gally is playing in midfield and needs to do more than just score.
ramadaone Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Says it all really when Kasper was our best passer of the ball in the back 5 !! Morgan at least fronted up when he came on but how people can give Mills a 4 is beyond me - he was totally shite for the whole game - Holt and Morrison will run absolute riot if Mills plays and that will be season over - Morgan and Bamba for me Front 2 really starting to get a good understanding now so some light at the end of the tunnel Dyer was shite Not Gallys biggest fan but at least he tried to get into the game but he gets too narrow and just isn't a natural winger Howard should never be included again Watford are a poor poor team and from being 2-1 up to losing is simply not acceptable Fans were quality apart from last 10mins when we went a bit quiet but that was perhaps to be expected as their 3rd goal was a real killer blow
shen Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 The difference is, Nugent is a striker and he is rated on goals, whereas Gally is playing in midfield and needs to do more than just score. That is a pretty old-fashioned view, which I'm going to rebut with an equally old cliché that "defending starts from the front". As Gallagher scored twice against Cardiff, that doesn't make our strikers that day flunk, does it? After listening to Pearson's interview I reckon he is pissed off with Mills but with Morgan cup tied looks like he will have to play him. I think he shouldn't be played, does he have to get injured to be dropped? I have stuck up for him in the past but he just has had too many bad performances. Isn't Bamba available again? He could theoretically play him and St Ledger against Norwich.

Isn't Sol back now - and supposed to be available for Saturday ? If Pearson really is pissed off with Mills, I would have thought that's a pretty simple swap. Also, Pantsil for Peltier (though that's less likely given Pearson's reluctance to drop his favourite players - and Pelt's must be one, having just got a new contract !) ?

marbelladave Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Why has Peltier dipped in form so badly in the second half of the season? I must say that I am in love with David Nugent. Since Pearson arrived, is that what you mean?........ Seriously, I think this is down to the Pearson 'method'. He knows that he can not play with 2 men up and 2 wide as we would get murdered in central midfield. So he plays with 1 wide man on the left and someone playing narrow on the right who can 'tuck in' and help out centrally. In 2009/10 the 'narrow right' position was (mostly) taken by Oakley, now it is Gallagher. This setup does leave the right back exposed somewhat particularly if that fullback is required to get forward and provide width in attack. Morrison was a less acomplished player than Peltier so did not get forward anything like as much, the result was a better shape defensively but less of an attacking threat......

marbelladave Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 cup tied? No, he has not played a Cup game this season. I believe Villa refused to let him play in the last round because that would have Cup tied him for them, but now Villa are out of the cup...... It probably depends on whether we are going to try and extend his loan or not. Actually it probably doesn't matter, in his current (cup) form Beckford will see off Norwich without assistance......
Darkon84 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I know I wasn't at the game last night, and had to listen on the radio, which therefore makes me plastic, less of a fan and obviously the sole reason for all that is bad in the world, and probably means I shoud not be allowed an opinion either, but... I'm not totally understanding the low scores for SSL and Beckford. From what I gathered, Beckford got an assist, could have got one himself, and seemed like he got himself involved a bit more with some flick ons etc than he was doing a month ago. As for SSL, yes, it appeared we were getting bullied at the back by Iwelumo, but it certainly sounded like he had a much better game when he moved to right back, by making the forward runs, AND also being rather sound, defensively. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though I'm sure, one or two people will take great pleasure in that

Captain... Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though I'm sure, one or two people will take great pleasure in that I also only listened on the radio, but taking away conceding 2 golas from set-pieces and one that shouldn't have been allowed for a foul, apart from the goals, we were better than Watford, we scored 2 away from home created a load more, should have had a penalty, it just seems like it was one of those games, it is frustrating but it sounded like we didn't play that badly and could easily have won, but we didn't that's life, this is not the first time we have lost when we should have won, and we also have won when we should have lost. I do find this sudden doom and gloom to be thoroughly predictable and quite depressing. Having said that we are not good enough to go up this season, so what we weren't last season, or the one before, at least NP is tryng to build something rather than quick fix us up, to just get battered every week.
