Mack Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 True, but if NP doesn't get rid of the deadwood ( Wellens, Gallagher, Mills, Howard, Oakley, Dyer etc) we can kiss goodbye to any promotion hopes. Dyer and Wellens deadwood?
Happy Fox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Dyer and Wellens deadwood? Yes they are, they are average championship performers and certainly aren't going to aid us in our promotion push.
Mack Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Yes they are, they are average championship performers and certainly aren't going to aid us in our promotion push. That is ridiculous!. I'll give you Wellens was average in the first half of the season but Lloyd Dyer? When given a chance he has been superb.

Granted he has been playing okay but I wouldn't say he can take us up to an automatic promotion level type performances too inconsistent for my liking like most of the players barring Konchesky, Kasper and Nugent.
cc_star Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 This is from a Leeds fan anyway, and is not meant to be negative. You really do need a manager that can get the most out of the players, the performances your team have been producing are nothing compared to the quality of players you have in your squad. If the manager can't get the players motivated, and able to win games he needs to go. I firmly believe if your owners sack the manager at the end of this season and bring in someone of actual quality you'l easily walk this league next season, or at the very most a top 6 finish. If they stick with the current manager you'l find yourself in the same position next season. Believe me I, like any Leeds fan who goes to games have seen a level of shit football that clearly shows the manager lost the dressing room and the players just aren't performing, but since Colin has taken over we've conceded 1 goal in 3 games but can't score, a good manager can stop the rot and strengthen areas of weakness, which is something your manager seems unable to do. I always did rate Leicester, at least more than Derby and Forest, if anything next Season, should Bates not sell Snodgrass etc and you get a decent manager, we'd easily be 2 teams worthy of being promoted. Kinda sucks that both our teams have been displaying shit football for long periods, I understand its equally frustrating to watch, but again, a decent manager can at least improve things. Btw. Although the final game of the season won't mean anything for Leicester or Leeds, it should be a good old fashioned game of football that should be good to watch anyway.(That's me saying neither of our teams are going up this season ) you've just described Pearson I think We need to remove several players who are piss poor team players, there's quite a few under-achievers on top of that too that just aren't going to work out. Replace them with 4 or 5 players that aren't prima-donnas who believe they have a divine right & don't need to put the effort in to match their supposed talent. I absolutely believe that come next October we'll be just fine

Then there's some who just don't want it (Beckford yesterday?) and Pearson hinted at that post match yesterday - was is it me or was his voice shaking (anger maybe? £1m promotion bonus up the swannie,or fear of the sack)?Whatever...You need ALL your best 11 fired up for every game and Pearson clearly doesn't have the dressing room under his spell. Can't believe we have high paid regular International players warming the bench or out shopping while the same sloggers are getting the games week in, week out. All for sticking with a regular side if it brings consistency.

Nugent hasn't been consistent either, he has had games where he has been anonymous. If anything Dyer has been more consistent. If you asked around the other teams in our league they would snap your hand off to have most of our players. For me what needs clearing up is the bad attitude players around the squad rather than bad performers.
Callabinho Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Pearsons the man, he saved us, and he saved Hull, now he has got to sort out this mess out again, and when he does we will be back.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Pearson could not motivate a thirsty man to take a drink. Good post by Leeds fan.
