Freeman's Wharfer Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Nugent the same? What did he offer last night? Beckford puts the effort in just like nugent Beckford has scored two less than nugent Beckford claps all of the stadium when he comes off just like nugent Beckford is apparently the one who is the first to ask how everyone's day is in training THE THING THAT IS GETTING DEAD BORING IS.... Beckford being used as a scapegoat when we aren't scoring goals, when we beat doncaster 4-0 even though Beckford didn't score, his services were not questioned. Yet once we lose to millwall or draw to Burnley, suddenly Beckford was shit and again used as a scapegoat. I for one would love him to stay here next season and stay up front with nugent, i've said it before and i've said it again, the midfield is still not as creative as i would like it to be and the defence STILL looks shaky. The first part . Give me that wage and I'll go in to ask them how they all are! The second... zzzz As I said in my original post, it's time to get real and look at what he's offered. Time to take the blinkers off mate! It's not scapegoating it's realsim, cold hard evaluation. Fed up of people defending the indefensible by playing the scapegoat card. It's like the little kid at school who's hit someone running behind a load of big lads who don't know what he's done who then tell those looking for retribution "leave him alone you big bullies! He's only little!"
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Beckford could probaly be the top scorer if he had any kind of service and we were playing to his strengths. Sorry mate can you list his strengths for me please?! Because I can't see any of them. And you're not allowed to say 'scoring goals' because: a) He hasn't, well not enough for it to be classed as a strength anyway. And b) You have to actually have the ability/instinct/intellect to do something in order to get yourself a goal. Goals don't just get put on a plate, if they did winning would be easy. Those labelled with a natural ability to score goals (e.g. let's say Cottee and Lineker to keep things close to home) actually had some strengths to firstly get themselves into those positions to score, and to then actually do it.
Poakey Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 huff and puff but no spark. If your talking about our team then I agree.
Libertine Dream Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 huff and puff but no spark. So exactly the same as Waghorn who our fans idolised? Personally I like Beckford and think he will be at his best next season, having had a full pre season and settled in

cosmos Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I'm sure i'll be corrected but his goals per game ratio and his successful pass completion rate are both better than nugents!
