Captain... Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 @Spherical, can it be defamation when you are posting anonymously? Surely any criticism of you is a criticism of your online persona of Spherical Fox, admittedly you have a wider online persona than most, with a blog and twitter account, but as neither of them serve to earn you any money I think you would be hard pressed to claim for any damages caused by this accusation. You would also have to prove that anybody actually take any notice of what Col says, who incidentally is also posting anonymously, but I think he is called Colin. Anyway I think any threats of defamation are based on nothing and I think you 2 should just either agree to disagree or put each other on ignore.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Is this still a Beckford thread? . . . . . .

That is a wild, baseless claim and you should stop posting pure conjecture with no real evidence.
Finnegan Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Not sure why but I've always read it as Colonel City Fan.
seenitall Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Imagine if the players decided to get all shirty about the defamation on here.......
Raw Dykes Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I've always thought it was short for Colchester, but that's not a city, so that's got to be wrong.

Should I choose at any point to relinquish my anon title either here or elsewhere, they are linked. I won't have my reputation besmirched regardless of how meaningless, non-for-profit, it might well currently be.

HoustonFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Do you REALLY think that Sharp didn't join Leicester City because of fear of what may have been written on Foxes Talk? lol Yes Col, yes I do.

If what you are alluding to (I can't even properly remember) is my saying that I had been PM'd to say that other people found you a bully then yes, this was said in jest just to wind you up. It was not factual. And as such, i apologise if it was taken to be. However, not even I thought you would make such an issue of it on a footy forum. Now then, I've spoken to mi mates about how you are adopting such a threatening tone on here toward myself and we would like to discuss this with you later in the pub. Adult to adult like. Over a beer or five? I'll even buy you one? Can't say fairer than that? Come on down and we can discuss it further. We could even be mates? Love Col

That looks threatening. I'm sure you didn't mean it like that Col but if you reread it you can see why he might not take you up on your offer. Back to Becks - played well again today. Good for all of us!

Not meant at all that way mate. Was offering a hand of friendship again following the apology. Bygones be bygones and whatavya. I doubt he accept it though he never has done before. Anyway, well played fookin Jermaine Beckford today. And well played Leicester.

Just saying some people can read things differently if they choose to. I'll buy you both a beer when I come back to the UK next month and hopefully get a ticket for the West Ham game. No American beer allowed though!

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Great to see him tackling back today. One beauty of a tackle down the touchline on one of the Dull players. I think he enjoyed that

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Great performance by Beckford today really looked up for it and worked hard. That across the field pass to Dyer late on was quality!
Foxhateram Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Wasn't his biggest fan at first. He has however started to look like a great player. His work rate has improved no end and I am really impressed with his first touch which has also improved a hell of a lot. His goal scoring record is still not quite there, but that is mainly down to a poor start so I will let him off. Come on you foxes! and well sone Beckford.
wellyfox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 This guy is clearly loving playing for us, Pearson as turned him into a wonderful player No NP has just got him playing how some of us new he could and for the reasons Sven bought him. All he needed was time and the right sort of support from midfield. But I take it some will still want rid of him in the summer.

Ask both Everton and Leeds fans and they will say he would never put in a tackle, Pearson as really changed him for the better. Brilliant man manager
cc_star Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Looked excellent as the lone forward (which was largely his role at Everton too) Would like to see more of that as it allowed far more freedom (4231 or 451) behind him than a rigid 442 does.
Ozwin Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 If anyone bashes his work rate or commitment after today's performance I'm going to come round your house and beat your dog up.
