ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Am I right in thinking that I'll need to take some form of ID with me? I'm 16 so obviously I can get in with a concession ticket, and I am always being ID'd for proof of age on Lottery and stuff like that... Finally, the only thing close to what I have as ID is my student discount card so would I be able to use that? Cheers

ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 March 2012 Author Posted 11 March 2012 What do you do at other away games? Do you even get asked? never have been, but I've seen on the Chelsea website that people in the turnstiles ask for ID on concession tickets
NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Look at it this way: How much of a pr!ck would you feel like if you turned up without ID and got refused entry?

NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I know but the only way I could prove my age is through my student card Oh right I missed that bit. Is it an NUS card? In which case it doesn't count (no DOB), and I'm presuming you haven't got a passport or you wouldn't be asking. Your birth certificate should be allowed in conjunction with a non-DOB photo ID (student card) though - ask your parents where it is.

NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 My NUS card does have my D.O.B on it with a picture too So does mine now that I look more closely! I can't use it to buy alcohol from my coop though so I always assumed it didn't... I'm going to ask them what the hell next time I'm in there. I'd say based on that you should be fine with your NUS card, maybe take the birth certificate just in case.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Why not ask chelsea fc rather than asking on here when noone knows?

I've tried using it in places like that to buy scratchcards etc, but its not an accepted form of idea in supermarkets, I guess at football matches it is accepted. Thanks!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 ^^^Even sounder advice. It'd take the same amount of time and effort as posting on here reading people's replies, all of which will have different answers
ousefox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 People considering taking their birth certificate to a football match?! Still don't get how they can be expected to carry ID to prove they are U17. And why U17 anyway? That's ridiculous. In what way is a 16 year old different to a 17 year old legally? It's not like they can earn more or anything..
Fmfox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 i think i will take a photocopy of my passport would that be ok?
NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 i think i will take a photocopy of my passport would that be ok? On the offchance you're being serious I highly doubt that it would be accepted. Take the real thing and don't lose it. Of course my form giving advice on here isn't great so maybe just phone CFC like Stu said.

Out Foxed Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 take your passport, you mutant. just watch out for the gypsy pickpocket gangs on the tube.
