Alf Bentley Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Kasper Schmeichel Sean St Ledger Wesley Morgan Souleymane Bamba Paul Konchesky Ben Marshall Neil Danns Richie Wellens Lloyd Dyer David Nugent Jermaine Beckford (Jerman Beckforrr for the thais followers) Tom Kennedy Jeffrey Schlupp Matthew Mills Paul Gallagher Danny Drinkwater I'd go with that starting 11: - SSL & Konch have more defensive discipline than Pelts & Kennedy, and that's going to be needed; also less likely to lose the ball. - Morgan, Bamba & SSL also gives us some height as Chelsea are good in the air - Wouldn't have opted for Danns a few weeks back, but he's in good form & one who might smack one in from 20m - Marshall will keep possession/shape better than Gally - That line-up has some width, pace & attacking intent, as we'll need to keep possession & have some threat up front to have the slightest chance...sit back defending and we'll get stuffed - As subs, I'd definitely consider Gally if it's tight late on, in case of a free-kick/long shot...and Schlupp looks worth a run-out
brockmyster Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 How have you come to that conclusion? he's not played for three games Dont get me wrong i think Konch is one of our better players, but to just throw him into the squad for such an important game when he hasnt even played for two weeks, replacing a player that got two assists at the weekend. Dosnt really add up for me. This isnt side to play vs chelsea though. For me konch is far better than kennedy but kennedy is good back up to have

Jace Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Konchesky's Premiership experience could be crucial Kennedy has played great so far and deserves more league matches but for me Konchesky is a cert on Sunday
