davieG Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 OS Leicester City will host an End-Of-Season Supporters Evening on Tuesday 24 April, giving fans and players the chance to show their mutual appreciation during the final week of the 2011/12 campaign. Hosted by Club Ambassador Alan 'The Birch' Birchenall, the event will be supported by the Club's most prominent supporter bodies and held in the Walkers Hall at King Power Stadium from 7pm, with all profits generated going to the LCFC Foxes Foundation's One In A Million campaign. Members from the Leicester City Supporters Club and the LCFC Disabled Supporters Association and Foxes Trust, along with all independent supporters are welcome to attend the evening, where Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, manager Nigel Pearson, his coaching staff and first team squad, fresh from their final home game of the season against West Ham United, will also be present. As part of the event, which will offer an exclusive opportunity for supporters to meet some of the squad, the afore mentioned supporter bodies will also have the chance to present their long-standing annual awards to this year's winners, including Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season. Cliff Ginnetta, chair of the Leicester City Supporters Club, said: "Leicester City Supporters Club have been handing out awards since the 1960s and have seen a lot of managers and top players over the years. We're looking forward to working even more directly with the Football Club and are pleased that the awards are open to all supporters." Andy Gubbins, secretary for the LCFC Disabled Supporters Association added: "We are delighted to be invited to present the independently-voted DSA Player Of The Year Award at the End-Of-Season Supporters Evening. "We are proud of the continued positive working relationship that we have built with the Football Club and look forward to this continuing." Tickets must be purchased in advance for the event and are priced £5, there is an optional £5 food voucher, which are available from the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium, or the City Sales Centre on 0844 815 5000 or online at www.lcfcdirect.com. Places are limited so supporters are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are on sale until 6pm on Monday 23 April. First team players will attend the event from 7.30pm until 9pm, with the bar closing at 10pm. The awards will be presented at 8.30pm. Click here to purchase your tickets online now.
Foxes_Trust Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Many of the players & the Management team may not be around on the Saturday. There has always been difficulties in arranging this type of event, generally the players & managers (like Sven last year) don't like events after games & prefer a separate night. The promise has been made that there will be a high level of attendance from the players for this event The Trust has agreed to back the event this year, in line with our backing of fund raising efforts for the Foxes Foundation. We feel the £5 price is fair and offers a greater opportunity of more fans being able to attend, than the £55 per head more corporate style event on the 30th
jasonpat Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Should be on a Saturday in my opinion. Why this should be saturday they can postponed it on the sunday too.

However, for me to attend, I'd have to book the next day (Wednesday) off. I understand the staff have agreed this date/time, but surely holding the event 3 days later on the Saturday (a weekend/afternoon, not evening) wouldn't put them out too much? After all, it's the loyal fans that pay their wages anyway. Good luck with the event though, very fair price in my opinion.
jonthefox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 We should present the foxestalk awards that evening too. We are massive don't forget.
