What a load of paranoid claptrap!!

Haven't you heard of Brent Crude?

133809

Explain what you mean about `paranoid claptrap`?

Who`s brent crude?

133837

lol Says it all really!

133904

It says you have trouble explaining yourself, says it all really...

133911

If you haven't the wits to work things out yourself, or to find the resources to explain it to you, don't expect me to do it for you.

It's bad enough arguing with an idiot without having to spell it out for him/her.

134262

How the hell am i suppossed to read your mind :(

134412

Why would you need to do that?

Try exercising those "little grey cells".

134588

Or you could stop taking harmful substances and enlighten me with your thoughts as to why you think i wrote `a load of paranoid claptrap`?

we want/should have an Englishman/woman leading our country (which is NOT britian).

How can a foreigner (blair) have the very best interests of England at heart? not so in my opinion.

I think you'll find we do live in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

134265

Ah, but some are more equal than others...

Where, if the Scots can have their national assembly, is the English national assembly that is mandated to look after and represent English interests within the Union?. Where is the Ethnic English Council of Great Britain cos it certainly doesn't exist at Westminster?

Do we need such an assembly?. Well, while it takes a reported three years for an English youngster to get considered for the Police and one year for an Asian youngster I should say so and then, perhaps, I wouldn't find myself surrounded by English teenagers determined to leave for America, Australia, Canada and New Zealand because they are so frustrated and marginalised in their own land.

Can anyone really imagine a policy where the reverse was true and imagine trying to justify it as fair?

Opportunities should be equal and chosen on merit. Full stop.

The above is designed to encourage multicultural equality, even if it means racially abusing white people along the way. Its PC madness, and its going to cause alot more harm than good.

I thought you were going to explain to lisa that britian isnt a country Thracian.

If the English weren't so either a) apathetic, or b ) concerned with devolvment at regional level, it's more likely to happen. Fair play to the other Home nations for standing up to Government and getting some joy, no matter how little.

Just as an aside, ever since ancient times people have migrated from one area to another; even our islands have been ivaded either peacefully or otherwise. Whilst I know that my roots are Celtic, I cannot claim to be wholly 'British', we have Irish, Scandinavian, and possibly German and French ancestry in my family. The customs and traditions of these people have been integrated into our society.

Bearing this in mind, is it right to alienate people in modern society for wanting to carry on with their traditions?

This is not a black and white issue. Whilst I'm proud of my heritage and wouldn't want to see it swallowed up by other cultures, I can understand why people wouldn't want to lose their own traditions by moving to another country.

I am a British citizen. It says so on my passsport.

When I need to put my country of origin on official documents, it has to be UK, not England.

Until Scotland, Wales and Ulster are independent of the Union, then that's the way it will be.

I don't know about independence for an area as small as Leicestershire but, the Midlands, why not?

Given the need for some nationally policies and directives there is certainly no reason why the Midlands, Devon/Cornwall, the North East/North West et al shouldn't have a decent budget and shouldn't be responsible for their own development, individuality and wellbeing.

Why? Because each region has different needs, different strengths and different weaknesses.

The Scots have long fought like Dragons within the British army and their investors, scientists, innovators, craftsmen etc have contributed hugely to our life and history.

Nevertheless they wanted their own policical assembly because London can seem a long way from Scotland and the Scots better understand their own problems than anyone else.

There are nationalists but generally the indications are the the Scots are reasonably happy with the status quo.

I certainly believe the UK has responsibility towards all corners of its territory. But, I feel that while so much attention is paid to what is wanted by the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish it is time we had an English Assembly.

Someone to speak up for our people who are now disregarded and treated so unfairly in many, many ways (jobs, gypsies, insurance etc etc).

For the record, my driving licence says I was born in England, and I'm quite proud of it because everyone else's says Britain. If I'm totally honest, I'm enjoying the fact it sems to be winding you up. ;)

Edited to correct Lush's inability to use the quote function properly.

I agree with devolved government, but as I've said elsewhere, we lack the same kind of drive as our British cousins.

The problem with this country is that we all think we know how to run it best, but when push comes to shove noone wants to take responsibility.

Which group of people, most represent the indigenous way of life, in political terms?

I think its the BNP.

Its like that saying, you cant love 2 people uncondisionally, meaning you cant love 2 cultures uncondisionally.

So when `push comes to shove`.

Followers of the BNP are a disgrace to decent society. The BNP do not represent the views of any tolerant and unbigoted person, which includes the indigenous population.
