Captain... Posted 30 April 2012 Author Posted 30 April 2012 Check you out all 'lar di dar' coming on here with your positivity, sensible statements and non knee jerk reactions... Are you lost or something, don't you know where you are... Someone escort this lunatic back to where he belongs! It was bound to happen sooner or later, I think my knee has jerked so many times this season it has finally come to rest back in a sensible rational position, just in time for pre-season.
ta-fc Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 It was bound to happen sooner or later, I think my knee has jerked so many times this season it has finally come to rest back in a sensible rational position, just in time for pre-season. Shoo, shoo off with you... My master plan that the board will explode with random comments, abuse and general insanity over the summer may have been foiled by this sort of sanity!!!! Pearson out, Mills to be manager and Sven to be the new Filbert the fox... That should level the equilibrium!
RumbleFox Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Jolly good post Mr Shrapnel. Now I am a simple fool who always liike to see the best in things so I may not be the best person to "have your back" but I am throwing my slight frame behind this post. We should be excited and quietly confident. I still believe this team could challenge for promotin without any additions if they had stabiltity and could get into a winning mindset but with a few quality purchases and a summer to get in the right frame of mind I really feel positive for next season. Oh, and though I must have been accused of hyperbole a milliion times I'm gonna stick my neck out and say we'll get Heskey back and he'll score 100 goals! Rumble. X
Swiss_tony Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Could you possibly show me your research re the FFP rules? they will stop us spending into oblivion from now on, but that doesn't help the mountain of debt we already owe Top and the Thais for past investment. Just like the MOF they will have loaned the club money not given it to us. We either get promoted or they call the loan in at some point. i think the ffp rules are good for football, but i don't think they help us one jot. i think you'll see a lot more average players coming here to keep the wage bill down. We'll probably ship out some big earners, and so i can't see how we're going to get promoted. The season is over, the summer is here, we are in better shape now than this time last season, we have a squad of our players that have played a season together and we know what we need to strengthen. We have a few promising youngsters coming through as well as a number players in the first team with age and time on their side, who could establish themselves as mainstays of this side for years to come. For those worried about the financial management of the club, the FFP rules will mean that the future of the club is assured and there is no way we can get into spiralling amounts of debt and go into administration. For those worried about NP, put this season behind you, despite numerous injuries, suspensions, appalling refs, managerial upheaval, needless press speculation and stroppy players we have finished higher in the league than last season (another one blighted by upheaval) and apart from last time NP was here it is our highest finish for a long time. Whether NP is the right man for the job or not, I don't know, but one thing I do know is there is no manager currently available that would be such an improvement over NP that it is worth the financial cost and the cost to stability of the team to replace him (except maybe Guardiola). Now relax, have a beer and enjoy the pre-season of speculation, and lets just all pray we finish next season with the same manager that starts it.
flowwolf Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 I got that ! Didn't mean to sound defensive either ! Bad day. Pretty shit year actually, come to think of it !! x Yes well you can sit next to me on the optimistic bus for next season it's bound to get better ( I think ) :D :D
morris1234 Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 Very sensible and agree with lots. Sadly, I think you have WOEFULLY underestimated the alcohol consumption required to cope with a (modern) LCFC pre-season of speculation !! I was thinking more of several bottles of Aberlour, taking up smoking, vailum, prozac ........ etc etc etc this! Are you proposing we have a 'phone in' style drinking game but for the whole of pre season?? Down your drink everytime we are linked with a striker and the response is about yakubu. Two fingers everytime we are told on twitter ' more info this afternnon'.... 3 days down the line and nothing.
flowwolf Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 Imagine how pissed we would have been on the Maynard thread ?
Capt Mainwaring Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 NPower Championship is still a good league to be in. Last nights Man City v Man Utd Game - £400m of players on the pitch, you have got to sell one heck of a lot of Duty Free to compete at that level. Bit sad when finishing second is a failure !. Back to LCFC, keep Pearson, clear out the debris, spend wisely in the Summer, bring injuries back up to full playing strength again and believe in themselves. I agree with Capt Shrapnel, take the Summer off (if we get one), enjoy Euro 2012, Olympics, and back to LCFC footie in August.
Izzy muzzit Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 Spot on trent fox! Expectations were a little too high last season! Hopefully everyone will be positive in SUPPORTING the players and NP going forward (not boo every pass or call in to mr stringer and mr young every week and ask why we have not won 900-0!?!) Here's to goodtimes ahead!
smokey Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Interesting point re pressure. Looking at the teams in the play-offs. Three of them will be here again next season. How many of those are we confident of finishing above ? There will probably be Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton, too. Are we confident of finishing above those teams as well ? Add to that a promoted team that always seems to do well and a possibly much improved Leeds, Boro' and Ipswich. Whatever my anxieties about NPs tactical nous, I'm extremely confident he will handle the pressure. Not sure I'm so confident that some of our supporters will, though ! Despite the teams I've highlighted, there will be some people that still expect us to roll everyone over week in week out and call for blood when we don't . Good Shout! When you look at it there is gonna be the best part of 10 quality sides next season plus everyone else as per this team will be hard to beat! Your right though, Leicester fans will expect us to win every week and get on Pearsons back if we dont, madness really. Lets be honest, a top six position next season will be a job well done by Pearson!
