Uncle Phil Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Ingoldmells was still pretty popular when I was a lad as well, until we upgraded to Hunstanton To be honest I can't remember where we used to stay, but avoid Butlins like the plague. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually harbouring the plague. Every day I was there the bloody monorail was broken and Casper and the red Power Ranger were dicks, however, they did have those Chucklevision bike car things.
Rincewind Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 I got my first flat when my parents moved to Trusthorpe near Skegness. My mum has always maintained that I could have gone with them but all that was there was a holiday camp that my stepdad worked at ans a pub halfway to Skeggy. I had a job then and I thought it unlikely that I would find permanent work there unless I did bar work at the camp which would only be available in the Summer. Now I think I would have got a security job at the camp. Never occurred to do that job then.
