Basically, I'm a student at university but during my gap year (October 2010 - July 2011) I worked for an accountants in London. Anyway, long story short, until the tax year passed I was paying the right amount of tax (nothing until January or February then the standard amount from then onwards) but when we moved into the new tax year for some reason I paid tax from the outset (and thus never had my tax free allowance). I think I'm owed a rebate of about 400 pounds but I'm not sure how to get it back. The company worked for used e-payslips and although I printed the last one at the time I've somehow managed to misplace it. Any ideas how to reclaim this? Cheers.

Ring HMRC, i've had a similar experience, they will then either do an adjustment for following months pay or send you a cheque if your not working any longer
