shen Posted 10 July 2012 Posted 10 July 2012 Some of you may know already, but there's a bit match-fixing and player betting scandal unravelling right now in Norway. The recent game between Ull/Kisa and HamKam in the second division was cancelled by the Norwegian football authorities due to suspicious betting patterns. And on June 24, the club Follo (whom my gf's cousin incidentally plays for, and reached the cup final last year) suspiciously lost 3-4 after having led 3-0, prompting the club itself to contact the Norwegian football authorities as they suspected foul play. Now Claus Lundekvam of Southampton fame is saying he'd been doing all sorts of small bets (i.e. first throw-in, kick-off etc) during his time in England, everyone knew it, everything was arranged. He also knows about several Norwegian match fixers... this will blow up big time! Couldn't find any English language sites, so post them if you have seen any...
Mack Posted 10 July 2012 Posted 10 July 2012 This is much more widespread that has yet been made public I'm sure.
Captain... Posted 10 July 2012 Posted 10 July 2012 Some of you may know already, but there's a bit match-fixing and player betting scandal unravelling right now in Norway. He also knows about several Norwegian match fixers... this will blow up big time! Couldn't find any English language sites, so post them if you have seen any... the first throw in bet has been kicking around for a while, I seem to remember Paul Kitson just booting it out of play from the kick off, clearly deliberately not like the way we do from a kick off. I think after that he admitted he had done it for a bet, not his, but he told his friends to bet on it, I think, at the time it was found he had done nothing wrong as he had not affected the outcome of the match, but I think the bets were cancelled and the rules and regs were tightened up. Edit: This link mentions it and Matt Le Tissier trying to organise something similar, but the main article is about betting on a player getting sent off by the Rooney's very interesting read. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2046681/Des-Kelly-If-game-tainted-game-up.html
ADK Posted 10 July 2012 Posted 10 July 2012 I heard Kasper regularly fixes bets on the number of throw-ins during a match.
