Another dig from Oakley now

When he was captain he didn't seem bothered about it, never showed much affection for the club or the fans, it was always obvious he wished he was still at Derby and finally his exploits on Sky when he seemed annoyed at us winning....

What a insult that was

Pure conjecture then.

Conjecture is a cop out response! Personal opinion on a person will differ, you can say one thing I can say another but judging by his actions since he left he's hardly looked upon his time at Leicester with much fondness.

Well it is conjecture because you don't know if any of those things are true.

When he was captain he didn't seem bothered about it,

Why? Because he wasn't constantly shouting and raving at his team mates like Schmeichel or slapping his thighs like Howard?

never showed much affection for the club or the fans,

Who out of the current squad has?

it was always obvious he wished he was still at Derby

When you say 'always obvious', I'm guessing you meant "that time he clapped the Derby fans". Yes, he must have been pining for a return to Pride Park because he showed a bit of grace and courtesy towards the fans that used to chant his name.

and finally his exploits on Sky when he seemed annoyed at us winning....

He was brought in as a neutral pundit, given that he was currently playing for us and had enjoyed many years at Southampton. Funny how the likes of Steve Claridge and Robbie Savage get laid into every time they say anything that's anti-Leicester, yet when one of our players shows some respect towards their ex-club they get lambasted for it.

How do you feel about players not celebrating goals against their old clubs?

And he also played the next season at Derby, putting in a good display as we outplayed them.

No complaints about him that night was there?

This really is ridiculous.

Adam N and Corky are spot on.

As Haydos said earlier, it's the silly season.

To answer about captain he got replaced by Andy King while injured and never recovered the captaincy back, how many club captains does that happen to? Roy Keane was never replaced as captain when he suffered from one of his many season ending injuries.

There are plenty of players in our current squad that have showed enthusiasm at playing for our club and also seem to relish conversing and making themselves accessible to the fans, something which Matt Oakley never did. Neil Danns is a perfect example of this, the other night he did a signed boot giveaway on U-stream where he sat answering questions from the fans on video for over an hour. There are plenty more that could be named such as St Ledger, Dyer, Beckford....I could carry on if you want.

He showed more affection for the Derby fans that day than he ever did for us Leicester fans. Care to question that?

Robbie Savage and Steve Claridge have gone down in my estimations from the recent "Leicester bashing" that they seem to love, any opportunity for them to have a pop at the club they do it. Also its a completely different scenario when a player who was still employed by our club, had been captain of that club, was so negative about it. Did you see Darren Fletcher when he was a pundit on Sky covering a Manchester United game? That's the kinda commitment you would expect to see from a player that cares.

Probably cos he wasn't playing regularly enough. What's the point in having a captain that never plays?

Ok, but one example doesn't mean that Oakley should be singled out for not being the most accessible player in the squad.

Are you saying that Oakley has never clapped our fans after being substituted/at the end of a match? I find that hard to believe.

I didn't see that so I can't comment on it.
