Another dig from Oakley now

It's the way of many City fans (maybe of fans in general) to seem to want to slag ex players off. Very often those very same players who were very popular when actually at the club.

It's just childish.

Both Oakley and Howard were good servants for the club and if they want to vent any frustrations they might have had then they're only human.

I know, I hate it when people forget the good contributions a player made for the club. I agree that Howard's time was up but I don't see that as a reason to have a go even if he was poor in his last few games.

What contribution my f**king ass they did shite all relative to Izzet, Walsh, Elliot, Lennon etc during my life time.

How they are enamored by Fans of Oakley, Howard as so called Legends is a mockery to the past players which I have alluded to above that have played for our great Club.

he got well paid , did we moan about his legendary " invisible man style of play "

No.............!!!!!!!!!!

What grates me is the money such players recieve for mediocrity ..............

then have the "brass neck " to moan when the barrel runs dry ....................

just shows you what a ungrateful tosser this chap is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Part of our League One title winning side? Is that not contribution enough? They may not have the quality of the O'Neill era players but we haven't had many of that quality since he left and at least Howard and Oakley looked like they wanted to play for the club.

The fact you dismiss their contributions while showing such faith in Beckford, who has contributed far less, is quite strange. I think Beckford should stay but I think less of his contribution than I do of Howard or Oakley's.

Ungrateful shit! Granted, at his best he was decent for the club... However, he was still paid a bloody decent wage for those two years he 'didn't enjoy' (read: spent time on his vineyards), so he's no right to complain!

What are you prattling on about?

They aren't legends, no-one has said they are, just probably don't deserve the stick they are getting.

Did Oakley say the club had treated him badly? Did he slag people off by name? No, he said he wasn't enjoying his football. He had an injury which had contributed, and was left out of the side as well. All while being asked to play in a position unfamiliar to his natural role.

Howard and Oakley are players who played with us for a while and will no doubt fade from memory in time. But, right now, he's being criticised for doing nothing wrong.

You are probably right, just my rant at mediocrity that has befallen us for some time, lets hope we move onwards and upwards now.

Were you even old enough to have properly watched the 'legends' to mentioned?

Walsh, Izzett, Etc?

It is true, Dierby born and bred is a f**king inbred Matt Oakley, Matt Oakley...

lol

The same matt oakley that was born in peterborough and started his career with southampton?

Oh well, we knew he was a mardy ass when he had that stint on Sky Sports on one of our games.

He was hardly good anyway when he was playing.

lost all respect for Oakley a few years back at Derby away. being subbed off in the second half and turns to applaud all 3 home sides of the ground and fails to even bat an eyelid at the away end . wasnt impressed.

Just to chuck my tuppence in...

Oakley was nothing special overall, an OK player mainly during our promotion season in the lower leagues.

He got paid a lot of money for doing nothing in the end and had he still been up to the task I'm certain Pearson would have had him back amongst the first teamers.

Both him and Howard made a lot of money from our club and should show more respect to the club and fans.

Think before you speak gentleman, retirement is much longer than your playing days.....

Did an ok job for part of his contract but no different to hundreds of other players, was an integral part of teams that provided LCFCs two lowest finishes in their entire history, bottom of League 2 and top of League 3 not much to write home about really.

But only says he wasn't enjoying himself nothing wrong with that I wasn't enjoying watching them difference is I had to pay to do that and he did take up the option of another year so it couldn't have been that bad.

Ex club captain gets old, loses place and captaincy and didn't like that time.

Not surprising is it?

Didnt know that , Outrageous ................

Based on what, exactly?

When he was captain he didn't seem bothered about it, never showed much affection for the club or the fans, it was always obvious he wished he was still at Derby and finally his exploits on Sky when he seemed annoyed at us winning....
