Bluefoxtim Posted 21 September 2012 Posted 21 September 2012 I was driving along some country roads earlier and a big industrial vehicle was coming the other away. I moved closer to the edge of the road but I wasn't paying enough attention and didn't notice that the grass verge had changed to a muddy curb! My wheel hit the curb with a fair old whack and I've got some damage on the edge of the rim. Any easy ways to patch it up or at least protect it from rusting? Ta.
potter3 Posted 21 September 2012 Posted 21 September 2012 You can get touch up kits, Halfords will have them. Alternatively you can get it professionally refurbished but it costs quite a bit, depends if the car/wheels are worth it really.
acooling08 Posted 21 September 2012 Posted 21 September 2012 Similar thing happened to me. The rim had a fair sized crack. When it had it's MOT the guy said it wasn't safe as a bit of it could have flown off at speed, so he had to rip about half of the rim of completely

Matt Posted 22 September 2012 Posted 22 September 2012 Repair and Powdercoat? Probably abit pricey for what you want though. Think you can get it done about £80 a wheel, maybe cheaper. I need mine doing, I bought my car with wheels that need repairing with the intention of getting them powdercoated, I was going to get them done this summer so it was decent weather and i'd get no weather damage on the fresh repair wheels but seeing as we didn't have a summer this year I never got round to it.
